HFD... I'm a fan but I'm begging you to stop. Jarhead did a great job on this thread. Don't hijack it.

Would have been nice to have some sort of BY bat signal there to meet up with you guys...

As a first timer at the event I freakin loved it. It was packed and enthusiastic, just like you'd hope it would be.

Weist stood out to me. Looked like he walked out of a boardroom meeting- slick suit, handwritten notes, all business- but with a personality, too. Mentioned it before but he WILL be a hell of a head coach some day.

I thought Buggs brought some good passion and personality too. Really nice additions... We'll see how they coach on the field.

i would not be allowed there, would have to take over to introduce the players for P.

Likes? Positive comments? Stop! Before I have an aneurism. :)
I tell ya man... I'm as optimistic as can be. Not as much for 2013 (still quite optimistic) but a lot of good athletes and playmakers in this class. They overused the word "upside" tonight, but... THERE'S A LOT OF UPSIDE!!

And frankly I see upside in the coaching staff too. P strikes me as a CEO type. He's got real solid right hand men in Weist in Hughes... I think we are in good hands with them.

This is totally an aside - but Hughes has a very beautiful wife. He definitely punched above his weight on that. :)

P also really drove home about HS Football in CT... emphasizing the level of competition and coaching is on par with any region of the country.

JarheadJim - great job, props to you and to the others who contributed. But you get the "What's good" award.

Weist was awesome. I kinda felt like a dick for screaming "YEAH!" when he got introduced after GDL, but whatever. He killed it.

Didn't GDL look like a miserable old man when he walked up to that podium?

Let's say he was walking gingerly. haha.

I think he was the only member of the coaching staff that didn't offer any thank you's.What a grump.

Had a great time tonight. I agree, GDL was all business! I sat behind D. Bradley and his parents - they were very nice to chat with. Strangely enough, Weist sat right next to me during the program. I welcomed him to CT and held back all urges to ask any substantive questions about our offense.

See, if I had known you were a Boneyarder, I would have said hello... I was standing close by. :)

you remember how we had that thread about boneyard flags? we need a pin to wear in public. something subtle, but an identifier nonetheless.
