Makes sense he’s leveraging a solid year at SIU-E to get another opportunity, likely at a stronger program.

Averaged 13.1p, 3.9r, 0.9b, 44.2 fg%, 72.7 ft%, 32.3 3p% in 27.1 mpg.

Wishing him good luck!

I wish him the best of luck. I really hope he figures it out. I think he will have to sit a year which will suck. I feel bad for the kid, he never seemed to find the right fit after leaving the Johnnies. And everything that happened with his mom. Just a really tough break.

SJU>UConn>SIU>?

4 schools in 4 years. lucky for him the transfer waiver rule is getting passed.

I was thinking how cool it would be for him to play alongside AG for one more year but it wouldn't work if he needs to sit.

he wont need to sit the 1 time transfer waiver exception rule is as good as passed

I believe that only applies to first time transfers, though the wording is a little unclear

he'd never be able to benefit from it if that's the case, which is unfair

He should 100% transfer. I'm surprised more kids don't. If he can play on a bigger stage he needs to do that.

I would think Iona, Fairfield, level maybe lower level A10 team but here’s a guy who flamed out pretty badly in the AAC then played well at a pretty weak league where he wasn’t even the best player on a weak team.

Quite frankly his argument is that he did not attend SJU, since he never attended his summer classes. Only played ball in the gym that summer. Interesting argument.

Growing up through adversity he needs support and the more stabilized he becomes, the better chance he has of having a good life and career. He certainly has great physical talents. Growing up and getting the help he needs will be easier to find on a college campus if he seeks it than in Greece or Turkey or the D league. I'm rooting for him too. Nothing better than seeing a kid turn his life around and find fulfillment. He has to trust someone to help him find the way. Good luck Sid!

Seriously

@Deepster

This guy thought he was bigger than the yard, said he would put it out of business, and then comes back hat in hand posting as if nothing happened. Its not too late (before first 4 starts tonight) to amend sentencing. Add him to a sentence if hes going to post, or banish him. We are in total mojo limbo right now with this return.

Ive warned you all. This is ominous until dealt with.

That was an awful choice of schools
That’s a decent BB conference at the top but where he chose to go was a school thats not only in the lower half in record but also they have the worst attendance in the league
Bryant would have been a better choice for New York area kid.
What was he thinking.
The kid had barely played in his 3 previous years and with Covid I’m not sure how man games they played this year
Year 1. St Johns: enrolled at summer school but according to him never took a class
Transferred and Attended UConn in the fall.for some reason he was declare ineligible on a short handed team that could have used him.
The coaches who recruited him were fired
Year two
Hurley suspended him for the first half of the season .
I think is first game was Nova . Missed the cupcake schedule that all new players need.
He had some success and actually earned a couple of starts
Year Three with Akok, Boukright, and Polley getting the minutes
he was relegated to the bench.
He got a couple of starts when Polley went down but injury and suspension and rumor was he was through for the season
Akok goes done but Whaley emerged to get the minutes
Because we we so short handed Hurley kept him on the roster
Then the year was shortened
This guy has been in college 4 years but freshman have played as many games.I hope he finds a good place.
I hope he finds a place that he loves because I can’t think of kid whose career has been effected by things outside BB . Whether they are self afflicted or not.

Could it be possible he is grad transferring? Would make him eligible right away. He's been in school 4 years now.

Someone told me he quit the team (I don’t know for sure). Apparently he hasn’t been listed on their roster, or played in a game, since February 18th.
