I thought it was clever and pretty funny. Definitely shabby, but yet still kind of funny.

Gottlieb hit the nail on the head last night. They aren't making shots, so they are quitting on defense. The play where Lamb got dunked on is a perfect example. Drummond whiffs on a half hearted steal attempt. Instead of stepping in and taking a charge, Lamb feints at a block attempt and gets dunked on.

Come on, be nice people. Bazz knows he's not playing well, no need to pile on. He needs our support not put-downs. We are not National Champs without him.

This team is fragile enough.

i'm unable to surmise or pinpoint the downfall of his play. Has he been like this all season? harder competition, and lack of boatright seems to have exposed him even more. AO, i dunno.

One thing i did like was how Deandre responded, andre too. We still have loads of potential to make noise in the BET because of ANDRE. Its just nothing else is going for us.

Kids can be shabby, and have shabby basketball play.

Just not ones that call themselves leader, call the other teamates selfish, start every set offense with a bunch of hand waves and orders to just shoot a fade away 3 when the shot clock shot hits single digits, try often to cheat on defense by letting their man go by them and poke at the ball from the other side after their beat, and have the name of Shabazz Napier.

To your question of "Why don't you do something else with your free time" .. no.

Why don't you do something else with your free time?

Also - I apologize deeply for the shabby post.

Don't think we've quit on D - there are always a few specific plays you can point to where the defense wasn't good enough - if Lamb tried to take the charge there, it probably would have ended up an "and one" since he wasn't in position by the time the offensive player left his feet. But we've only allowed 54 points a game in these last two losses - usually I'd take that with UConn teams in a heartbeat.

There are times we've quit on O. It takes some mental toughness to stay with your game when the other team is offering resistence and taking away your first options, and we tend to tstop working hard and go to clearouts -- with guys who haven't been any good on clearouts.

I also don't think going to name-calling when kids are struggling is a good messageboard phenomenon. For all his current struggles, Bazz (and Alex) helped hang a banner in the rafters - maybe that shouldn't get you a lifetime pass from criticism, but at the same time, maybe people here don't have a proper concept of just how difficult those banners are to obtain. Other Big East schools that fancy themselves historical basketball powers (we're looking at you St. John's) have none.

Not sure how people can watch Shabazz play and how he's moving out there and not think something is wrong with him physically. He scored 28pts against one of the better Ds in the the country in FSU and looked quick in getting in the lane and creating space for his shot, now he can't do much at all. He had a sprained foot...and then proceeded to play 38 plus minutes a game thereafter on the same foot. I'm not a doctor but I don't think playing that number of minutes is actually doing it any good. I'm not a big fan of how he's playing right now but then again I'm also not going to go out of my way to on a kid who isn't playing like *** on purpose. I guess some of us that don't choose to go out the chump way on a messageboard are jus different.
