Don't think we've quit on D - there are always a few specific plays you can point to where the defense wasn't good enough - if Lamb tried to take the charge there, it probably would have ended up an "and one" since he wasn't in position by the time the offensive player left his feet. But we've only allowed 54 points a game in these last two losses - usually I'd take that with UConn teams in a heartbeat.
There are times we've quit on O. It takes some mental toughness to stay with your game when the other team is offering resistence and taking away your first options, and we tend to tstop working hard and go to clearouts -- with guys who haven't been any good on clearouts.
I also don't think going to name-calling when kids are struggling is a good messageboard phenomenon. For all his current struggles, Bazz (and Alex) helped hang a banner in the rafters - maybe that shouldn't get you a lifetime pass from criticism, but at the same time, maybe people here don't have a proper concept of just how difficult those banners are to obtain. Other Big East schools that fancy themselves historical basketball powers (we're looking at you St. John's) have none.
