I don't really understand the Heat's mentality with the moves they've made since LeBron left.
Signing Bosh to a big money deal, they'll almost definitely re-sign Wade for way more money than he's worth at this point in his career, bringing back Chalmers and bringing in Deng for $10m a year...
They're going to be a middle of the pack playoff team and end up losing their first round pick next year to Cleveland. Surely letting Bosh go to Houston, keeping cap space free and bottoming out next year for a high draft pick and a big splash in 2015 free agency would've been a faster reload strategy?

I think it hurts Bazz that LeBron won't be there because he seems like a great teammate and teacher with the younger guys……..never saw Wade as anything close to that!

The Heat don't have much salary locked up for 2016, which is the goal of a lot of teams. It is also incredibly difficult to tank in the Eastern conference so they might as well get to the playoffs and continue selling tickets for both the regular season and playoffs.
The heat are loading up for 2016 notice Deng, Chalmers, and Birdman signed 2 year deals. They will be a middle of the pack playoff team and then try to load up to form another super team in 2016.
Not even MJ is like Lebron in that regard but Shabazz is still in a good situation.

Good thing you aren't the gm of the heat. Tanking or bottoming out in 2014/1015 would be nonsense seeing as the cavs have their pick. Also there are no major FA targets available in 2015. As noted everybody on their roster (minus bosh the franchise player) is on 2 year deal until a slough of FA become available in 2016.
Bosh is the best pnr defending big in the league, I also think hell garner all nba honors next season when he gets more touches. People say " oh bosh's Toronto teams were crap" , he is leaps and bounds better as a player/leader. Heat will be contenders ; that's really good after losing bron.

Well the point is the Cavs wouldn't get it if the Heat tanked and bottomed out because it's top 10 protected in 2015 and 2016.

I suppose it's nice to keep ticket sales up, but they're going to nosedive anyway considering how fickle Heat "fans" are. Personally if I were a fan of the team I'd rather them tank and get a good draft pick than play decent but have no shot at a title and give up their pick.
The Heat are not contenders with Chris Bosh as their "franchise player". Let's be realistic.

I didn't even know that. Still , they can remain competitive and get a big time FA in 2 years, be right back in title contention.

They are contenders to get to the ecf. I'm also not ready to call wade washed completely , he's yet to have a real crappy regular season. for instance kyrie has yet to put together a better season than wades worst(other than his rookie year).

I think it would be a pretty big surprise if they made the ECF. The far more likely scenario, as amory mentioned, is losing early in the playoffs, then giving up their pick to Cleveland because their success in the regular season put that pick in the 11-20 range. That's just dumb when you could suck, get a great pick that you can keep, and then add more pieces in 2016.
And Wade's regular season last year was pretty crappy when you consider the fact that in over 1/3 of the games, his stat line was 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists.

Wade averaged 19/5/5 last season on 55% from the field. Obviously those numbers are inflated for the reasons you mention, but he's still a very good player.
I understand the sentiment of wanting to bottom out, but when you can bring back two of the best three players from a finals team and surround them with solid role players like McRoberts and Deng, you have the makings of a squad that can compete in the eastern conference. We'll have to see what Wade's deal looks like and what they do with their remaining cap space before we judge them.
Bottoming out is a loser's mentality. Did anyone think that Riley would just fold up and not try to put a competitive team out there? As usual, the Heat have done right by their fans, and this city. Give me the organization that tries to win over the one that has to hope to get lucky in the lottery every single year, like the Clippers used to do or what Cleveland has done.

Hey if you like losing, that's your deal. Miami can field the best team they can, work contracts and work to convince good players to come here. Sucking and trying to build through the lottery carries no guarantees whatsoever in the NBA.

I like winning championships. To me, you should either be competing for a championship in the current year, or doing everything you can to maximize your chances of winning a championship in the future.
The Miami Heat have a 0% chance of winning the NBA championship next year unless some crazy roster changes are made.
Pat Riley knows how to build championship teams and you don't. I hate Riley with a passion but he always gets it done.

2 solid big guys, a good 6th man, and a third veteran PG from being the third best team in the East. Assuming Rose is healthy, I think the Bulls are #1. Cavs should be #2. Heat #3 as I mentioned, and since the Pacers are likely to lose Stephenson I think they fall to #4. Wizards/Hawks/Raptors/Hornets in some order behind those 4.
But once again, I really think the Heat should offer Stephenson a max offer sheet. Weakens the Pacers, and you know how he plays when up against LeBron. It would also be beautiful how much "hatred" there would be between the Heat, Pacers, and Cavs; old school NBA level stuff. Wade could transition to a 6th man role which is what I think he needs for the next leg of his career. Its obvious he is not the 30 ppg Wade anymore. Lance also happens to be third biggest threat for getting a triple double, which would be a very good thing to add seeing as they just lost LeBron.
