He will still play with Bosh and Wade. Rumor has it that the Heat will sign Luol Deng. I was looking forward to Shabazz playing with Lebron and Ray but he is still in a good situation players will still want to play under Riley. There could be a rivalry developing with the Cavs and Heat. Miami steals Lebron from the Cavs and the Cavs reclaim Lebron. Hopefully Ray joins Cleveland, well see.

I agree but the Heat may have less patience with Shabazz "if" things start out sluggish for him. With Ray and Lebron there he had more support IMO . We'll see.

Lebron > Wade + Bosh + Deng.

I see what you're saying, and agree it doesn't look quite as apocalyptic as the moment when LeBron announced his return to Cleveland, but I still feel like I'm (we're) the only non-Heat fan(s) who wanted LeBron to stay.

Well yeah Yes of course Lebron> over what the Heat have now just saying Shabazz won't be playing with chopped liver the Heat obviously aren't title contenders anymore but they are still a playoff team in the East. I hope Ray joins Lebron to turn this all into a rivalry Shabazz will be a story line the main one of course is Lebron.

That's not good . Once again Bazz will probably have to overcome tough odds
But in this current situation he'll at least be able to buy his mom a nice house.

Are there any rumors of a sign and trade or is this just the Heat wanting to make an offer? He's a RFA and Phoenix has said they will match any offer.

I wonder if tim grover can reinvigorate wade.

I disagree. Taking off my homer glasses, napier isn't nearly ready to be a starting pg on a contending team. Having a guy like bledsoe, on the verge of stardom, would take immense pressure off him. also they can play together since bledsoe can guard a ton of shooting guards. Thing is i doubt they get bledsoe, his agent is rich paul.

Heat just signed luol. Depending on how wade and bosh play together, that team can get to the ECF.

Wade and Bosh can definitely get the Heat back to the finals but Wade absolutely must be given proper rest. He is still a great player but they cannot run him into the ground again. I think we'll see a dominant Wade to start the season now that it is his team again. However, it won't last unless they cut his minutes and pamper his legs every day with every treatment possible. The guy isn't over the hill just yet, but he is teetering on the brink, that's for sure.

You do realize Wade sat out 28 games as part of a maintenance program this year right? Personally I think Wade's demise is overstated, he was awful in the Finals but he was the 2nd best player in the ECF and had a very efficient regular season, albeit with a reduced schedule. I think he would be better served dropping some weight and there was talk for awhile that Riley isn't happy with his eating habits(he reportedly doesn't eat vegetables), but he should have at least a good 2 years left if he takes care of his body.

On another note, if their cap situation works out right after the Wade & Haslem deals they absolutely should go after Bledsoe, Bazz is nowhere near ready to be a starter. I doubt they will be able to afford him tho.

Yes, I know they rested him this year. My reference was to running him down like they did pre-Lebron. He can't be a workhorse at this point in his career. I don't know how they can give him the rest he needs with this roster but they have to figure it out. If Bazz can help great, but they need a veteran that can hit some shots and handle the ball.

Bazz looked like he was back at UConn and running the point in last Summer league outing.

How much more do you want them to rest him? He sat out a third of the season last year and was still a shell in the finals. He's not a great player anymore.

Um, see above. I meant that they can't use him the way they did before Lebron came along. If they could, they'd be contenders. They also can't sit him 20-30% of the games or they'll suck. They need to get him some help in the backcourt and pace his minutes so he can play every night, all season long.

Scratch that all I'm coming across is that Mario Chalmers is expected to resign....

yea Ethan Skolnick said with the way the figures should shake out after Wade and Haslem resign they're not going to have any cap space left to sign a big name. they'll probably resign some of the role players from last year to small deals.

Based on the above you think the Heat can definitely make it back to the finals if they give Wade the proper rest and also think they can't give Wade the proper rest because they'll suck if they do.

You're acting like the Heat aren't aware of the player D. Wade is now, when everything they did last year shows they know exactly what he is.

No, basically what I'm saying is he needs to play less minutes in the games he plays in, but he needs to play in as many games as possible. He can't sit out 30 times and have them be any good. Manage his minutes and keep your fingers crossed. Skipping games won't work out with this roster. I think he needs to play 30 minutes and shut it down. If the game is in hand, he needs to sit. Basically, he is going to have to play about 300-500 extra minutes next year. I'd like to see them save as many as they can for the playoffs.

I'd also like to see him leaner and less muscular. Losing weight will add some speed to make up for what he's lost with age.

I like how so many people are forgetting that Wade was still one of the best SGs in the league last year (yes, it was a weak position, but still). Too many people are writing him off based off of a terrible finals. It's just like after the finals two years ago when people were saying that Ginobili looked done and should retire after being terrible against the Heat.

It's much easier to look like one of the best SGs in the league in the games you play when you're sitting out 1 of every 3 games. He was able to minimize/eliminate all the tough games that would lower your overall productivity (back to backs, games with aches and pains, etc.).

Wade's an all timer, and easily one of the 6-7 best SGs in the history of the league, but his time playing at a super elite level is over.

I can't disagree with that at all. However, with less weight on his frame and decent health, he will still be damn good. With Bosh and some decent pieces, they are a serious threat to win the east.

Surprised by this. I thought drafting Bazz was a clear indication that they were planning on moving on from Chalmers.

I think they are looking for as much stability as possible right now. They have done a very nice job holding it together and showing everyone down here that they don't plan to just fold up.
