OK what is the green room? I always see the draftees at the table with family and agent on TV.

Happens every year. It creates better TV.
There is a yearly conspiracy going on in the NBA and now poor Shabazz is going to be the victim. Every year the Commissioner and other league officials go around to every team to find out who they are drafting, then they take that information and select a College player and invite him to the green room just to humiliate him. Do you realize how freaking absurd this is?!??

They could be setting him up as the drama guy.
In a way I can see what you mean. But its not negative or a setup. He is the college basketball story of the season. All American, Bob Cousy award recipient, Tournament MVP, Senior and National Champion. Every college basketball fan knows who he is and how good he is, hell so do the players there.

Best player in the green room, a lot of people will be watching to see who drafts him. It will build drama but not in a humiliating way. When he gets selected, the accolades and words like winner, steal, best guard, etc.. will spew out of the analyst's mouths. Plus he has the best highlights out of all the draftees (although I'm bias).

The longer he's on the board the more attention he will grab. So yes it will be a dramatically charged scene the longer it goes on. Think "who'll select Bazz?".

If the NBA recognizes some of that then its smart to bring 'Mr. College Basketball' to the green room. It ain't like he doesn't deserve to be there. Its all good.

It's a win-win. I hope he goes as a lottery pick or in the first round. However, if he doesn't maybe he will be embarassed, but end up looking to prove himself in the League. Remember when Uncle Cliffie slipped to the second round? He didn't even wait to here his name called. He walked out as soon as the first round ended. I don't mean to imply that Bazz is a head case like Cliffie was, but look how that experience made Cliffie come out with both guns ablazing when he got to Portland.

Not a victim, but it seems pretty clear that Bazz will be the guy that isn't in the top group being mentioned all the time that the casual fan will be interested about. There will be more drama with him there than if he was home.

The casual fan knows more about Shabazz than every other player outside of maybe 2 or 3 players in this draft.

Chad Ford says napier is getting looks from the orlando FO, they are slotted at 12. Also if you notice every freaking article coming out with 'under the radar' or 'on the rise' picks, napiers name is in there. he is a mid first round lock , as i noted in like january. Would love to watch him play under stevens or thibs though, not jacque vaughn and the orlando odd bunch.

This kinda sucks for my selfish fandom. I was really hoping he'd fall to the C's 2nd first rounder. Doesn't seem any chance of that now.
Not to worry. The Celtics do not have a second round pick. They do have the #17 pick though. Depending on what the C's do with Rondo and Bradley, I would not mind the Celtics taking him there.

That's why I said "2nd first rounder"! As in, their 2nd pick in the 1st round.

It's the waiting room before they are picked for the guys who are about to see some serious green in their wallets.

there are 20 invitees, you're guaranteed to have guys not in the lottery, there's a very good chance Bazz will be there at 17 and possibly passed by the Cs.

Some Russian guy got invited last year and got drafted 20th. Doesn't really mean much, just solidifies him as a 1st rounder. I could see him going anywhere from 12 to 32.

We already know he was getting drafted at some point in the first round, and likely towards the end unless one team makes a move for him which is very possible. Even if he does have to sit there for most of the first round, he can shine his two championship rings while he waits and we all know wherever he ends up, they will be getting a special player. He can be in the league for a while if he ends up in a good situation.
He will have to get the ring from his Mom.

Sorry, I misread that. If the Celtics go in the win right now direction, then they may take a player like Napier. If not, they may go with a player like Ennis or LaVine

I think the embarrassment of sitting there and not being selected until the second round fueled Cliff Robinson's career, outlasting everyone taken that day.
