My thing is does he need that? Is he not nba ready already with his handle, decision making, and shot-making ability? He's 22 years old so I don't think much more progression is needed. I'd rather see him come in and be on the all rookie first team in a starting role.
I'm not sure why you think Bazz would start right off the bat over Beverly or even Lin for that matter, Beverly is one of the best defensive PGs in the game, there's a reason why he overtook JLin for the starting spot despite Lin getting paid a ton. Bazz may be older but he's gotten better every single year, I expect him to still have room to grow in the NBA once he reaches that level and learns to adjust, he's not maxed out as a player yet talent wise.
