Seton Hall Post Game Thread

Seton Hall doesn’t play basketball.

And the BE rewards it. That wasn’t good defense. That was we’re going to foul constantly because they can’t call them all.

That terrible call almost turned the game. Just terrible.
100%

The 3rd foul on Alex was ridiculously bad. Total nonsense after they were pushed and grabbed all night. Alex was pushed two-handed in the back and he barely brushed the kid and they called a foul on him. Nonsense.

Anyway, this is going to serve UConn well in the NCAAs.

  1. I hate SHU’s style of “dare them to call every foul”. Awful basketball to watch.
  2. That type of game helps prep this team for March.
  3. SHU will be the latest BE rock fight team that finds out how much tighter tourney refs call games.
  4. Val should be embarrassed that the league allows that kind of product. What a hideous game to watch. No other league allows that.
  5. Say what you will about Hurley, no other coach goes apoplectic about the most blatantly obvious fouls quite like Shaheen.
  6. I want to launch that guy sitting behind the announcers into the Hudson River.
I can't even imagine going to a sporting event and acting like that, I would pass out from exhaustion screaming and being belligerent for 2 hours

Well a win is a win. We knew it would be ugly and Seton Hall wouldn't quit. Tarris Reed is a beast but he has to work on his FT's 5-13, won't do in most big games. Karaban played well and Mullins came to play when we needed big plays in the second half. That block was huge. Ball dissappeared. He is a big funk. I wonder if we are a better team with Ball coming off the bench and Stewart starting at the 3 for his d while Mullins at the 2?

I love the Big East and I don't like complaining about the refs but I hate this. We're the best team in the country, other conferences protect their golden goose. Our conference lets lesser teams grab us constantly and the mugging turned into straight up tackling in the second half tonight. It's honestly embarrassing for the conference and it's going to get someone hurt.

Tarris was a beast out there despite the terrible ft shooting. Silas and Mullins are money players. We all know about AK and he was more than solid.

I love Solo but he needs to regain his form. He had a good first half but he was bad in the second half. Hurley made a big mistake leaving him out there that long, Solo can't handle full court pressure at all and his three point shot has never come back. He turned one down to walk into a turnover.

Andy Katz is a bozo. I love how Hurley handled him.

That one fan is insane.

Kansas is whooping on Iowa State.

A great night for UConn basketball despite the frustration with the conference/refs.

With legitimate refs we win that game by 25. Our offense was restricted by holds all game so we had no choice but to go to Reed. And they hacked him at will.
Craziest holding I've seen in my life.

I saw so many blue uniforms 1-2 feet behind our players with a Pirate hand attached. Refs should be fired for the 1,261 times they missed what everyone could see.

First win in Newark since 2013. Great win in that sense. I don't respect Seton Hall's playstyle but I do respect them having a record good enough to make the tournament, which I think they probably will have.

Proud of ALL five starters. Stewart gave us some good minutes off the bench, but Hurley must have lost trust in the rest of the bench. What a way to gut out a tough win. Reed was gassed and likely contributed to his free throw woes. Love how these guys refuse to lose.

Good solid win for UConn. They finally break the Prudential hex and getting Alex his first win there in 4 years. UConn showed resilience playing 5 vs 8.
Big East game on the road vs ranked team in top 25, take the ugly win and get the fff uuu cck out of there.
Next time they play Seton Hall it will be in our house where we owe them a proper beat down.

1. I like it when we win so there’s that.
2. It’s been multiple years now where we look inept inbounding the ball. Make it make sense.
3. Our bench is becoming almost a liability. Need so much more.
4. Making free throws is an easy way to score
5. Solo is hurting us more than helping at this moment.
6. Mullins didn’t look great, but he made huge winning plays when it mattered.
7. Hurley just becomes a different coach in NJ. Thought his postgame interview was just bizarre.
8. Silas has proven to be a really clutch player. Remember when some of you wanted him benched?
9. I don’t love how SH plays, but they are always a handful. Props to Holloway for getting them to play so hard.
10. Most impressive individual in this game was angry drunken Jersey guy. Fabulous effort and intensity.
