3 and 1 count and he strikes out. 2 out. This is unbelievable.
 
Since we wouldn't take it, Seton Hall literally forces the game into our mouth. Wholly unsatisfying victory, though the pitching was awesome.

we can't come out flat in game 2 now after this mess of 11.
 
It is nice to see this team win a game this way even if the other team handed to them. They have had their share of games they let get away. Hopefully they can relax and take the double header.
Are there lights at the field? Im thinking game 2 could be a 7 inning game?

no lights. and i really want lights for the new place....
 
This is a fundamentally bad baseball team. Three errors, allowing Seton Hall its only run? Men on 2d with no one out in the 8th, 9th and 10th and no ability to get someone home with small ball? A man on third with no one out in the 11th, and we lose two outs without getting him home and need a wild pitch to win?

I don't think this team has the talent to stay in the Big East race this season if they don't stop being a fundamentally poor baseball team, and right now they are.
 
I agree Biz. I am encouraged by Oberg's performance, though...hopefully the bullpen continues to get back on track.

If they don't get 9 in, I would bet you they pick it up from where they leave off on Sunday. I don't think you get shortened games during a 3 game series (except for the last game)
 
I think the good thing is, we beat Hall's one good pitcher. Hopefully we tee off on the next 2 starters.

Harvey pitched well against u last year, but he is inconsistent. Ward is a better pitcher than Harvey is. We have a great shot to win this game.

I like the decision to throw Ward today. Let's win the series now.

yea def a interesting decision to throw ward here. maybe hes feelin good enough that were thinking of throwing him vs BC during the week. this would be a great move if so. that BC game is big for us OOC wise....

not as big as it could have been BC is 10-14
 
That's another issue with this team right now, striking out with a man on third and less than 2 outs. Make contact
 
If I had a dollar for every runner we've left stranded in scoring position this year, I could buy a model of my own private island.
 
even if there 10-14 it doesn't matter. they will be around a .500 acc team. thats a important win for our resume if we have any shot at a at large.

This is a team that managed 5 hits over 11 innings and no earned runs and now Ward has already given up 3 hits and 2 runs even though unearned. Got to wonder if he is 100%
 
Unreal. An inning and a half in, and we've given up two more unearned runs and left a runner on third with one out. It's early, but more poor fundamental baseball on our part.
 
Ferriter has been awesome today. 2-2, man on 2nd, bottom of the 2nd inning.

And he steals third! Are we going to sacrifice fly here?
 
billy is locked i right now, kid is playing good ball.
