Senior Day Pre-Game Ceremony on SNY

With the New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals Pre-Season game still in the bottom of the 8th Inning at 3:45 PM EST, what will SNY do as it relates to broadcasting the Senior Day Pre-Game Ceremony?

Well, we do have the pregame 1/2 hour to play around with. It is quite obvious that no one pays attention to moving preseason B'ball games along. Top of the 9th.

I remember the Heidi rule;(NBC cut away to show the movie Heidi, from a football game seemly out of reach for the losing team who miraculously came back to win, yet no one saw it!) all games are broadcast right to the end. I think even spring training games are included.

In the bottom of the 8th, the Mets have scored 3 runs without a hit on 6 walks as this meaningless preseason game will easily exceed 3 hours. I think I'd rather watch paint dry.

A meaningless game between two teams that aren't exactly national icons. But SNY spends many boring hours talking about the Mets. It's their franchise. Ugh. And some people actually think that baseball's creeping, dragging, snoozing pace is just dandy.

If I had my way (and I doubt I'll be consulted in the matter), MLB would follow rules similar to college softball.

1) Seven inning games
2) 20 seconds max between pitches
3) step out of the box only after getting time out call
4) extra innings start with a runner placed at second base
