US getting a bit on track EDD hits buzzer 3PT shot to take 18-17 lead after 1Q. By the way, Canada leads Greece 51-25 at half time. Kia seems to be having a good game. 6/6 from ft

Once it was explained to US squad that it was legal to run fast breaks and brought back Stewie who is probably the best fast break facilitator on earth from the post, things started going the right way. :)

65-48 USA end of third

Ogwumike 14 pts, 3 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl

Sarr 12 pts, 2 reb

Ogwumike led the charge in Q3. It is funny how both heavily accented announcers cannot handle he last name. :D

Oh boy, that very first sequence in the highlight was terrible defense by Charles. Late on a close out, bit on a head fake, then got back in the play just late enough to commit a foul while not really challenging the shot at all leading to an and-1. Everything you could possibly do wrong she did.

Cold from 3 for the game but 60% shooting on 2 point FGA for U.S. That will get it done most of the time.

Tina did not look 100% against Japan. I think she has a bad leg.

Well, the "friendly" doubled up slaughter certainly did more for Senegal than us. Just sayin' I know it isn't that simple, which is what keeps us fascinated.

We beat Senegal by 50 in the exhibition game and by 20 today. Who would like to explain the difference?

For the life of me I cannot understand ... yes, catch the athlete when you can, but the background noise lever taxes a tired athlete and annoys the carpe out of your audience.

Summary article. Status of BG seems to be ok.

U.S. women sputter early, find way in FIBA rout

The U.S. was without Brittney Griner on Saturday after she tweaked her ankle in practice. She is listed as day to day, but Griner said she wasn't worried about the injury, joking that they turned on the gravity in the gym and that's why she injured her ankle.

Had it been an elimination game, the Americans' star center says she would have been on the court.

"Even if I lost the whole leg I would have played," Griner said, smiling.
