So -- 252 in a row is the NCAA all-sports record.

It will take 6 and 1/2 women's basketball seasons to break that -- or winning out this year, and then running off 6 more undefeated seasons and NCAA Championships. That will take UConn until April 2018.

All streaks come to an end eventually. The fact that this streak lasted 14 years is ridiculous, and incredibly impressive. I don't care what it is: squash, basketball, checkers, tiddly winks....to go that long and have that many wins without a loss is quite the feat.

And so a new streak starts with the next match....

The Cheshire High School swim team won 281 straight matches going back to 1986. There have been girls on the team whose mothers were also part of the undefeated streak. The team's first loss in 25 years came in October 2011, to Glastonbury, suzyq.
