How Does UConn's Season End?

I don't get the consternation about St. John's being in our region. We're on opposite sides and both St. John's and us wanted East regional. The committee helped us two, they didn't punish us.

Only 1 of us can get to the final four, but the odds of both reaching the elite 8 is quite low, so it doesn't even matter.
My consternation is due to the lost opportunity, no matter how slight, for the league to get two teams in the FF and gather up more "shares". With this bracket only one could advance that far.
The league needs the money and the exposure.

I think this has set up nicely for us. An extra day of rest for Silas, good travel situation to Philly. I feel like no one is talking about us. Like no one. Everyone is focusing on a potential St. Johns/Duke matchup. People are picking teams like Purdue and Houston to win the tournament. I feel like a little bit of pressure may be off us.

We have a potential 7/10 matchup with a banged up team from the West Coast vs a team that limped into the tournament.

When you are the 2 seed, you hope the 3 is a good match up for you, and you hope the 1 seed has a tough draw. I respect Izzo and Michigan St, but they don't scare me. I would argue Duke has a tougher draw that us. They could face a game v.s. a TCU team that beat Iowa St, and should have beaten Michigan and Kansas at the Phog. Then a Sweet 16 game against Kansas, who is a total wild card in this tournament, or a St. John's team who actually matchups well with Duke (if the officiating isn't too too tight).
There's people talking about us and picking us for the final 4.

So far I've seen Norlander, Rothstein, and Justin Jackson all picking us to go to the final 4.

Well, when you compare them to Nebraska, they have a gripe. Nebraska also beat no one in the OOC.
They lost a long time ago and should have beat Iowa state. Hopkins is playing at a different level right now. We all just witnessed that
They got a bad break but always root for the big east until they play us. Let’s move on from st Johns

Question. I know a lot must happen
But if it lines up
Would you rather play Duke or St John’s.

Charles Bediako was allowed to come back to college after waiving his eligibility and was given 5 games

In the 5th game, Alabama went on the road to beat Auburn by 4. Bediako played 22 minutes and had 12 points on 5-5 shooting. Without Bediako playing, Auburn probably wins that game and picks up another Q1 victory

Auburn was the 2nd team out of March Madness

LOLLLLLLLLLLL

St. John's if Duke has Ngongba. St. John's might lose to Northern Iowa (it's a bad matchup for them).

Would rather play St. John’s neutral court with non big east referees.

Duke in a regional final while it would technically be a neutral court Duke fans would travel to Washington also getting the Duke calls (they get less of those in the final four). Duke in a regional final bring back bad memories plus a regional final in that building already also bad memories.

That being said this season despite struggles lately we did exorcise some demons we finally beat Kansas. We won at seton hall. Maybe we can exorcise the demons of 1990 and 2006

Ummm.
Didn't we beat Dook in a few big games way back in 1999 and 2004?? I'm pretty sure we did.

Duke. I don't want to see another Big East team until December unless UConn gets knocked out and Nova or SJ go on a run and win the whole thing. I'm assuming we got stuck in the same bracket as them so that another league didn't have that happen to them which tracks.

St Johns is a trendy pick now by some of the media, but ask yourself if you would bet money on SJU to put a string of wins together in the NCAAs knowing the whistle will be an issue and can they make those outside shots ?

Both St. John's and UConn seem to he trendy picks to make the final 4. I don't see it from either team and I'm surprised Duke isn't pretty much the runaway pick in the region. I expect Ngongba to play and play well.

Not even sure they make it out of the first weekend. Kansas is as much of a wild card as any. That plus traveling out west is going to be tough. Kansas at least travels west a few times per season.

St John's reminds me of the old Pitt teams who did well in the Big East and never advanced far in the NCAA's. I don't expect them to win more than one game.

No BgE in the NIT. Did Seton Hall turn them down?
The Big East, Big 12, and Big 10 get 2 auto bids to the College Basketball Crown tournament (associated with FOX), so my guess is that is where Seton Hall is headed. Last year, I think 4 BE teams played in the Crown, but they have reduced the field from 16 to 8 teams this year. Nebraska won last year.

Yes, but there's typically other games being played at the same time the second day of round one.
Of course, that's why they want a close game. When you have 4 games at once people are drawn in by a close game and upset potential. When it's 1 or 2 games people might tune in for the UConn brand

That’s a fair point. Although I am still puzzled about why the Philly start times are staggered later than San Diego. Maybe it’s only 15-20 minutes later but still

So let me get this straight.

We go 29-5 overall. End the regular season ranked #6 in the country. We go 17-3 in conference and lose in the conference championship game to the 1 seed. We get a 2 seed in the NCAA tourney and....

9 people voting have us losing to someone named Furman
38 people (13%) have us not getting out of the first weekend.
59% of people don't have us making the Final 4.

What happened to the Boneyard? We have people openly betting against UConn during the regular season and now we have people brazenly predicting (not if but) when they'll lose? You all really disgust me. The OG Yard would have spent the next 3 weeks insulting and shaming you all beyond reproach.
