Never seen Temple play.. do they have a chance to beat Oregon?? A good chance?
A chance? Yes, but only a small one. Temple's weakness is post play, and I think Hebard and McGwire, among others, will have a field day. Temple will have to speed Oregon up and create turnovers.

Ah Maria Taylor, yet another ESPN employee who doesnt know how to say Quinnipiac.
Though I'll give her a break since she's not based in CT. Now when the sportscenter anchors do it too ...

Are they? Two Pac-12 schools played Maryland. UCLA traveled to Baylor and South Carolina. Stanford played Texas and Tennessee. Washington played Notre Dame. Kentucky and Tennessee has the #5 and #8 nonconference SOS.

2 Pac 12 schools played Kentucky and Cal played Oklahoma. To me it seems more accurate to say most schools avoiding traveling west to play road games against Pac 12 schools.

B1G got punished. Michigan didn't make it. PAC and SEC were loved; Cal and Auburn got in. Virginia left out.

Now the Brackets are done I can watch some REAL CONNECTICUT BASED entertainment.

Monday Night Raw!!!

Very disappointed that NCState got a 6-seed after being a 4-seed in the second of the top 16 reveals before we lost to Wake Forest. BUT...we do get what should be a beatable Auburn team, and if we can get by Auburn, a potential matchup with a Texas team that stumbled down the stretch but features one of my favorite point guards. Will be a tall order to win in Austin, though.

Just realized... UVA didnt make it.

Question--How did Auburn at 17-14 get in?
Question--How did Cal get in and get a 9 seed and Oregon got a 10 seed?

Auburn and Cal are the surprises, IMO, on a historic level:

According to my amateur research, only one other team with a record of 17-14 has ever gotten in (NC State, in 2004). Plus, Auburn lost 9 of its last 12 games.

I haven't researched it, but I'm willing to bet that no team with a .333 record (6-12) in conference has ever gotten an at-large bid.

This is testament to what a weak bubble year this is. The only somewhat surprising omission was Virginia.

I keep hearing about Maryland having a weak OOC schedule. Was it weaker than UConns conference schedule? I am not asking rhetorically, I am sitting squarely on the fence about this.
The AAC had the 5th overall RPI while the BIG was 6th, so the conference schedule provided no assistance to MD.

I guess there has to be balance within a region. In Bridgeport, UCONN gets a tough 3 to balance out the cupcake they get for a 2!

Wow! I hadn't noticed Michigan's absence. And I just saw Northern Iowa. That was the third surprise, along with Auburn and Cal.

CT - UConn, Duke, Maryland, UCLA
KY - NDame, Stanford, Texas, Kentucky
OK - Baylor, Miss St, Washington, Louisville
CA - So Carolina, Ore St, Fla St, Miami

CA looks like the weakest region. OK and KY are both pretty strong.

Vowelguy: you're forgetting something.
West Virginia...who could easily be the elite-8 game

I see our group as the bracket of death.

NC State has some big ACC wins at home. How did you fare on the road?

But Purdue got a 9 after having a sub-par season due to the benefit of playing tourney tough.

The committee obviously wants to see UCONN lose!! Everyone is sick and tired of UCONN winning!! Syracuse has great guards and Maryland is very good I don't care what there out of confrence schedule is... They always play us tough ... We could have easily lost to Maryland the past 2 years!! Our bracket is the toughest and I knew it would be... They want UCONN out of final four!!! Maryland could beat us and I have a feeling they will.
MD tough, the rest are chumps!

We went 7-3 on the road...beat Florida State in Tallahassee and beat Louisville in Louisville in OT. Our road losses were to Syracuse (in a game where we squandered a 10-point lead in the 4th quarter), UNC and Tulane (another game where we gave up a double-digit 4th quarter lead).

I have a feeling we will take Maryland to school. If they make it past Duke we will absolutely kick the snot out of them.
I absolutely agree. UConn was up 20 at MD in the 3rd qtr before foul trouble made it closer at the end. UConn, playing their best basketball of the year, in Bridgeport, wins by 20+.

Wow.... Michigan didnt get in either

Northern Iowa got in.... wow
