A tremendous demonstration of defense tonight. Simply great.
 
GREAT defensive effort - KML rebounded well, blocked out, and scored like a demon in the 1st half when we HAD to have those points.

Kiah Stokes impressed me, very active, still needs to get stronger but VERY GOOD for an early season freshman effort. VERY VERY good.

WTIC crew RAVING about the team's defense tonight.
 
What I like best about the game is the fact that they can shoot a lot better as a team than they did tonight.

IF we had lost, it wouldn't have been the end of the world, but this is sooooo much sweeter! BTW, do we move up to #2 now? Setting up 1 vs. 2 with Baylor??

We had moved up to #2 today with the ND and TN losses.
 
Bria with nice interview on WTIC. Said the emphasis all week was they had to out-work Stanford on both ends and push the tempo.

She almost had a double double against the #3 (or 4 or 5?) team in the country. Definitely player of the game in my book. Saved our stagnant offense in the first half, made the defense stay honest against Bria in the second.

We took great care of the ball only 7 turnovers against a team that was applying real pressure.

Good for her. Last year she would have disappeared but she found other ways to help the team until the shots started to fall.
 
How about a post game thread this is ten pages long.

And we forced 16 and had 12 steals and 9 blocks.
 
It could not have been scripted better. Hard work on defense will carry you through times of offensive adversity. A really great game.
