SEC basketball 2022, Part II

I officially take back everything I said in the preseason about Georgia being overlooked and disrespected to start the season. I guess all those voters were right
Georgia has some good players but Joni seems to have been unable to make anything work. Felt like they have just regressed since that NC St win.

Will be interesting to see what happens next year with Morrison and Staiti gone.

Kentucky is one of the hottest teams in the country right now. They're a very dangerous potential 7-9 seed. Tomorrow vs SC is a tough challenge but hopefully they make a competitive game. Glad to see Howard and Co. get their act together after a tough season.

I didn't see KY in the SEC finals and in fact they seem to be limping along Howard's final year and some people had Elzy on the hot seat. They've looked great the last couple of games. The KY men's team always seems to do well at the SEC tournament in Nashville so I guess the mojo is carrying over.

They looked dead in the water, now they seem to have woken up.

Could really salvage the season with a nice March.

I'd pull out all my savings to travel and see a Rhyne Howard vs. Caitlin Clark matchup. That would be an electric game and both teams are riding high -- basically a mirror of each other.

Hopefully Kentucky actually plays to their potential this time in that matchup. I was shocked how easy Iowa made it looked when they played last year.

Exactly! This Kentucky squad, all season, has been a mystery. Lack luster performances throughout the season. Questions plenty about Howard and her effort. I watched a lot of SEC games this year, more than I should have. But Kentucky has been a mystery. Glad that they found that switch and has been on run! Plus I am just glad that they beat Tennessee. Great job, Kentucky!!

I forgot they played last season! Doh!

Can someone please post the post media interviews on the Kentucky vs SC championship game…would love to hear what Dawn has to say.

Kentucky did their thing and wasn't afraid of the moment. Not even the slightest bit mad. I'm hoping this is the wakeup call the need because the same issues happened during Ole Miss the night before.

While I'm bummed, I'm ecstatic for Rhyne Howard and Coach Elzy, they both have gotten what I believe was some underserved criticism, but they turned it around and went from out the tournament 6 weeks ago to SEC tournament champion. Congrats to Kentucky.

I wonder how far this will push up Kentucky in the seeding. Their wins in this Tournament are 3 big ones. I think they may be flirting with the top 16. Just maybe on the outside right now.

(If it was my opinion, they would be in)

I watched and couldn't help but be happy for Ky, Elzy, and Howard. They all took their lumps this season and deservedly so, but turned it up when they needed and pulled out some impressive wins over top flight competition. Kudos to them.

Crazy! Just a month ago, folks were questioning Howard and her level of effort. Same with Coach Elzy. Folks wrote her off. Said she was overrated as a coach. In over her head. Oh, my favorite, "Lost the team". Ready to put her on the good old coaching "hot seat" Now? Hmm. Folks are singing a different tune. Congrats, Coach Elzy and the Kentucky WBB program. Huge win and what a shocker.

Best part of the KY win for me was

Dre'una Edwards...not her shot, but

the emotional interview afterward...

Those tears were more than about basketball. I have a feeling she learned a lot about herself yesterday. I think she grew up. She was benched earlier in the game because...well, she plays with her heart on her sleeve and was distracted by a call. She regrouped...and finished what she started. Good for her.

Massengill looked more confident as well.

Congrats to UK.

It's hard not to like a team that gets on a roll like they have.
