Today's games pretty much clinched a share of SEC for SCar and it would take a small choke to not win it outright.

Joyce shares the paint with a ferocious rebounder (the best that South Carolina has had since Aliyah Boston) and has a ball-dominant PG running the offense. What more are y'all expecting of her? She's a SOPHOMORE averaging 20 and 7 while playing on a national championship contender.

I'll concede that she needs to be a better one-on-one defender.

She's not a consistent rebounder or a consistent or natural passer but she has her moments.

I think in general there is too much negativity thrown at very good results though with our WBB program.

I think even our detractors would give us a better shot at UCLA and UCONN than a share of fan base. If there is a close game they're ready to write us off.

I agree with you on all points.

The fanbase may be equal parts spoiled and scared. This isn't the Freshies 2022/2023. However, this isn't last year's team. The truth may reside somewhere in the middle. We are good enough to win it all THIS SEASON. We will certainly be tested enough thanks to the SEC.

Joyce gets dumped on by South Carolina fans and non-SC fans alike for reasons that I cannot fully comprehend. Okay, she didn't set the world on fire against LSU. So what? We still won. Last season, Madison Booker shot 3 of 19 for seven points (loss) and 7 of 22 for 20 points (win) against us and walked away with the SEC POY. What are we doing here?????

If we're the measuring stick, then why does Blakes' 9 for 24 performance in a near 30-point loss not matter?

At the end of the day, Joyce is a sophomore averaging 20 and 7 on a true national championship contender. That's what matters.

Ok, I have no horse in this race but I did not see anyone “bashing Edwards” but what I do recall is Dawn trying to “tout” Joyce being just as good as Sarah last year before our game in SC. Joyce will eventually be a first team all American but never player of the year. Too many other headline players ahead of her. Juju will be a Junior next year along with Sarah and some woman named Blakes who all get more headlines. Now if that is “bashing” to you, my apologies.

Lawd, I hate agreeing with you and I’ll equivocate by saying that’s true this year. All bets are off junior and senior years. ( and let’s not forget Cambridge either)

Like I told them, they don’t understand true basketball. Good teams try to take Joyce away with double downs and sometimes triple. They want us to shoot from the outside and take their chances. Joyce has to either pass the ball, or dribble through traffic in the lane. She’s not likely to score big in most of those types of games. She has been making good decisions and not forcing it, which makes us BETTER.

Go ask UT how well individual players trying to just get theirs works. Never seen 10 players put their heads down and try to drive through a whole team as much as them. If they played unselfish ball, they could be formidable. Joyce plays unselfishly.

I'm not a Fulwiley fan, but I'll give credit where it's due. She sparked their comeback on both ends and was the best player on the court. I agree that it could be concerning because Mikaylah Williams was nowhere to be found, but the team should be used to the intermittent Flau'jae lulls by now.

Well South Carolina cannot have more than four losses, so they cannot drop lower than fourth. I don't see Texas or Vanderbilt going 1-2 or 0-3 in their remaining games to drop them out of the top four. LSU has one of the easier remaining three games (Missouri, Tennessee, Miss St), so I think the top four are set unless LSU has an unforeseen loss.

Texas, no.

Vandy--maybe (Kentucky is back to full strength and has a better inside game than they do, Alabama can be tricky, and Tennessee, despite its current ineptitude, is still a rivalry game).

Well, if we're opening the door to 5 loss teams making the top four, then Oklahoma would be the best bet based on remaining schedule as they have the easiest road ahead. That would mean LSU or Vandy had a rough ending to the regular season.

Given that they're our only SEC loss to date, I would love for them to finish 4th.

I don’t really like this post. But i have it a like because it is probably pure truth.

Vandy is the only SEC team I’ll always pull for unless they are playing us.

Can Florida (16-12, 4-9 SEC, 48 NET, 1-8 Q1) make a last-minute run at an at-large bid with three straight wins to close out the regular season and at least one win in the SEC Tournament?

Remaining games:

25 Alabama (NET 28, so Q2)
17 Ole Miss (NET 19, so Q1)
@ 24 Georgia (NET 34, so Q1)
 
Call me crazy, however I've seen Beers extend her arm(s) out horizontally at least 2, maybe 3 games over the past week or so, and maybe the only one today vs TN was upgraded to a flagrant 1. At some point this motion could catch up to her, no?

When she gets tired she seems to lose concentration and make mental errors like that. I think she was just letting her arm swing wildly from fatigue while trying to turn around and get back on defense. She needs to work on mental toughness to get to that next level in her game. It makes me cry on the inside thinking about how much more she would have matured in the South Carolina system.
