SEC 25-26

Today’s game will be the fifth time that the Cocks and Horns have matched up in the 2025 calendar year .

Curious if this has ever happened before?

So...Alabama is 13-0. 11 of its games have been at home...and the Crimson Tide has played two neutral court games. Alabama won't play a true road game until we're into 2026.

Nice schedule!

Nice schedule!

They had a lot of turnover and they aren't going to bat with #1 classes and such.

So I'll allow it.

Perhaps an old question, but ... what gives with TAMU's scheduling? They have only played 8 games, with their 9th and final non-con vs Prairie View today. Only 9 non-con games? Did a tourney get canceled on them or something?

Heading into SEC play and I feel like there are still a ton of unknowns. Outside of a few, I still don't have a good grasp of which teams are truly elite.

Looking at the stats, Kentucky, Georgia and LSU stand out but is that because of weak competition? I guess we'll find out. Kentucky's win against Louisville is looking better and better each day.

Alabama is 12-0 but their stats don't seem to support that record.

Missouri and Arkansas are at the bottom of most stats, even against weak competition, so I suspect they'll be the last two teams in the SEC. A&M and Auburn don't look that good either, but they at least excel a few things. Texas A&M in particular have a few snipers from 3 point it seems.

Tennessee is a little bit of a mystery since the talent and the record don't seem to align. I suspect that'll lead to a very interesting SEC record with a few upsets of higher ranked teams but also them being upset by the bottom SEC teams like A&M.

My prediction heading into SEC play:

1. Texas (1 seed)
2. South Carolina (1 seed)
3. LSU (2 seed)
4. Oklahoma (3 seed)
5. Kentucky (4 seed)
6. Vanderbilt (5 seed)
7. Tennessee (7 seed)
8. Mississippi State (10 seed)
9. Ole Miss (11 seed play in game)
10. Georgia (last 4 in)
11. Alabama (bubble team)
12. Florida (bubble team)
13. Texas A&M
14. Auburn
15. Arkansas
16. Missouri

SEC teams going into conference play based on body of work, current rosters and eye test

1. Texas
2. SC
3. OU
4. Kentucky
5. Ole Miss
6. LSU
7. Vanderbilt
8. Tennessee
9. Miss St
10. Georgia
11. Alabama
12. Texas A&M
13. Florida
14. Missouri
15. Arkansas

What a game! LSU/Kentucky was pretty exciting. The back and forth between the two teams was epic. Kentucky got a scrappy one in Tonie Morgan. Ice water in her veins!! Great shot! LSU was close but just could not hold on in the end. Conference play is going to be fun in the SEC! Great night of hoops.

I couldn’t believe that shot went in, it looked like they were trying to get the ball to strack and just had to chuck one up with the time running down.

Very good ball game with a very satisfying ending.

Kiffin considered attending the Sugar Bowl, and lobbied to appear on "College GameDay," or another program during the ESPN game broadcast. He ended up skipping the Sugar Bowl to attend LSU's women's basketball game Thursday night.

That must have killed Kiffin not to get his way multiple times; and, then LSU losing on the last second shot was the icing on the cake! 🤣

Mulkey went on extended filibuster in her presser about how that was fake news.

Yeah, I watched her presser. Schadenfraude.

I do wonder though whether this was a "Kentucky has entered the chat" moment.

They played pretty well and had a ton of resilience.

Two big wins for them now. Course we don't know much about LSU other than they can score.

KY did it the hard way. It could have been an easier win had they not missed 10 free throws.
They took 15 more shots and 16 more free throws than LSU. That is just mind boggling. LSU only had 8 turnovers and actually played a pretty clean game with the ONE exception of rebounding, losing 45-29.

As far as "entering the chat", I mean they are in that second tier of teams with OU and ahead of Ole Miss, Vandy and Tennessee. Adding Tonie Morgan really elevated this team. Strack was pretty good last year and Teoni Key finally had a breakout game.

Does anybody know why TX A&M only played 9 non conference games? All the other teams played 14 and I think at least 3 played 15. Their record sure would look better if they had 5 or 6 more cupcakes wins on it.

They are in that 2nd tier of the SEC of LSU, Lady Vols, Ole Miss, & Vandy group.
