Hello all. I have been a season ticket holder for the past 3 years. Each year my seats have gotten better and better. For example, this year I was a couple of rows off the risers behind the hoop by the Uconn bench. My question is how much would I need to donates to get in one of the sections along the side of the court? Also, I am thinking about getting 2 to gample next year as well, any chance for chairs or am I doomed to benches. I only worry about that since I take my 6 year old to the majority of the games and he couldn't see well when we were in the benches for 2 games at gample this past year. For the record I currently do not donate and just buy tickets.

As much as you comfortably can, obviously!

Call the athletic department at UConn and ask. A friend of mine had a similar question. He wanted to know what he needed to do to get seats in a certain section. The AD office described what he would have to donate right away to get those seats and then in each subsequent year to keep those seats. I don't remember exactly how much, but it was a substantial amount the first year.

It will take a while to get chair backs at Gampel. I have over 200 points and just got chairbacks for the first time this year. I have been going to the games for about 20 years after being a student there. It is great to be in Gampel for the games but I do agree that it is that much better with the chairbacks.

Thanks for the input guys. Is it also fair to assume that returning non donors get preferential seats over newer non-donors or first time season ticket purchasers?

It will take exactly as long as it takes to write a large enough check.

Correct. I assume everyone realized that fact. Obviously if you write a 10K check you will move up very quickly. My point was absent a large initial donation it will take a while to chip away and moveyour seats up.

The UConn Club has a donor guide in the uconn athletics site. It spells all this out fairly clearly.

The points system, how many points were needed for various seats. (Past tense) and the relevant dates in the giving year.

In short, some points are permanent and some temporary. Temporary points expire on April 1st. So, the trick is not to donate on March 31st. YMMV.
