No real surprise to see Cole Brodnansky start at catcher, day game after a night game. I'm thinking people are surprised to see Andy Hague at SS after his troubles this weekend, but it is hard to sit people down after just two games. Of course, this will all hopefully sort itself out over the long term of the season, in terms of people losing or winning jobs.

Four errors. Surprised the defense is so bad. Yes, college is a bit faster. But it's tough to beat good teams when you are busy beating yourself.

Top 1st, Bushling with a lead off single, Christian Fedko with a one out single to drive him in. 1-0 UConn with Christian at 2B advancing on the throw. Line drive double play ends the inning.

Bottom 1st, Michigan with a lead off single, Brodnansky throws out the runner trying to steal for the first out. Nice to see from the backup catcher.

Brodnansky throws out another runner at 2B trying to advance on a pitch in the dirt for the final out of the bottom of the 1st. 1-0 Huskies.

Top 2nd, UConn goes down quickly 1-2-3.

Top 4th, Christian Fedko leads off with his second hit of the game, but UConn then goes down in order. 1-0 Huskies.

Bottom 4th, lead off single for Michigan, two errors by Krauth on pick offs moves the runner to 3B, runner scores on a 2 out infield single to tie the game at 1. Krauth at 58 pitches at the end of the inning.

Top 5th, 1 out solo homer for Maycock!! 2-1 Huskies. First career homer for Maycock in a Husky uniform.

If his summer ball past is any guide, Maycock potentially can get you a lot of extra base hits, walks, and strikeouts on offense. The thing with him is making contact with the ball with his bat.

Bottom 5th, Krauth strands two runners on base. 2-1 UConn. Very nice debut for Krauth. I wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy Wang comes in next inning.

Top 6th, a Husky two out rally pays off. Kyler Fedko walks, a Gozzo double, and then a Crawford single drives in two runs to make it 4-1 Uconn.

Krauth stays in to start the bottom of the 6th. He's at 78 pitches.

UConn gets what I think is their first defensive double play of the season after a lead off walk. Jimmy Wang coming in to pitch with two outs.
