SMU is at UCF today and I’m at the game. Any requests for a particular observation? I just want to see how they play, best player, etc

Interesting note on SMU’s schedule: per NCAA rules a team can’t travel to the opponent’s site more than 48 hours before the game. So SMU is in Florida and will probably do home tonight then fly back out Tuesday. The AAC schedules are rough

SMU has struggled this year but they're a really young team, starting two freshmen and two sophomores.

Game is tied at 7 after 5:18 in Q1. UCF looks better than the last time I saw them, more in control.

SMU got flustered early because of the, uh, aggressive UCF defense but found its composure. Scoring is spread out among different players. Interestingly, SMUs best player, Froeling, comes off the bench. Cash has a good motor and a nice shot in the lane. She’ll be pretty good with more experience.

SMU seems we’ll coached, imo. Good spacing on offense and snappy passing.

On edt: there is a lot of slapping in UCFs defense. They seem to be going for the ball but don’t seem to care if a player gets hit. The refs seem ok with it too

SMUs best player, Froeling, comes off the bench.

That's interesting because Froling had started all 16 games before this one.

SMU plays scrappy defense, physical but not chippy. They do tend commit a lot of over the back fouls, though. On offense, the players aren’t afraid to go right at the defender towards the basket

I’d like to note SMU has scored only 14 points in 14:35. They “run their stuff “ fine but miss the shot

UConn can’t let Froling get going. She got away from the defenders a couple times and made UCF pay

Can NOT let Froling get going. She led SMU to a 9 point lead at the half. Of course, it helps that UCF missed point blank layups. They threw the ball straight up into the air - no one was challenging them! Stunning

Froling is the Aussie gal who was hurt last year. Love her game.

Well N'Orleans or Philly. I'd stay in NO as long as I could.

You were right Nan. She's a Cousin of Swin Cash. She's majoring in Pre-Psychology.
