Score prediction thread for UCF

88-48 Huskies. UCF will try to slow the game down as much as possible.

What you say is all true and I do agree with what you present. But......the game yesterday against Tulsa, the next two AAC games and the first two games of the NCAA tournament are going to be wins by 30 to 50 points. There is no competition for UConn until the Sweet 16.

That's how the tennis tournaments used to be until the "Open Era," and now Ms. Court' s amazing Grand Slam wins are indicated with an asterisk, distinguished from Serena and Graf. Do you want the talking heads of 2040 to be demeaning our huskies?

Here are the forecasts. I posted the mathematically closest results for the last game in the Tulsa Score thread. Well done Broadway VA, and all those who beat Massey.

Having trouble posting the prediction sheet - will keep trying - but the 78 to 56 win (a MOV of 22 points) certainly was a lot less than most predictors expected. Only two were under 30 point MOV's - oochoopsfan with a 28 point MOV and the winner and closest to actual - Nuyoika with his 84 to 59 prediction - a 25 point MOV
 
On 2nd thought, I won't even bother - no one posted after CTtransplant put up his scoring detail and that should back up and display the winner;)
 
I missed the prediction thread, but I would have been way off. Given that they handled Tulane, a team that gave us fits not so long ago, I would have predicted between a 35 point win. 90-55. UCONN's defense has not been that good recently as more and more teams seem to be scoring more against us (just my impression - it's possible that my observation is factually inaccurate)...

Can't speak to recent defensive deficiencies but here are stats for this year's team vs last year's team:

'16-'17 86.2/54.1 .519%/.346%
'15-'16 88.1/48.3 .530%/.332%

84-48 the only time they met this year. I'll go with that same score again. The starters will be pulled early again to conserve their strength and legs for Monday's game.

The bench get lots of plying time, thus UCF may score an extra basket or two. UConn played UCF way back on New Year's Day. I don't know how much they've improved since then. Under the circumstances, I'll go with the same score. UConn women's basketball - They get buckets. :cool:

Thank you. It was a long weekend but she is home now and feeling much better. At least I had a good weekend basketball wise. My three teams of interest, UConn, Maryland, and WVU all won their conference tournaments. I just hope they don't put WVU in the Bridgeport region. Would hate to have to cope with a UConn/WVU matchup. That could lead to total fan schizophrenia!
