Chong shall set a new Career high---it is so high--there are rules against it. 10 assists.

Doak Walker scores 12 points for SMU , honorary points. (2 field goals)

BVA: Damn, with all your well known sincerity as a fine human being, you sure had me snookered with your past posts of this sort.....had thought you were serious with your numerous way out on a limb predictions. It took the great Doak Walker drag my aging frame across the goal line for you. Good stuff.

UConn 88
SMU 49

#Nastyfor2hours

Oh yeah, GB 28--Dallas Cowgirls 20

OCHOOPS: another pre-game HUMOR BALL for the back half of this one, though I'm not taking sides......both the Pack and the BOYS have fielded some of my all-time favorite teams over the years. You?

These handsome lads are Tommy James and the Shondells. Sadly, they are often confused with the SMU legacy band of CRAIG James and the Pony Express. Seldom is an effort made to clarify this cock-up. (Note that Craig James had only ONE other member playing with him, Eric Dickerson.)

However, as UConn is engaging the Mustangs (aka “Ponies”) Saturday in Texas, it seemed a good chance to set the record straight. As for the “game” itself, well, you know what's going to happen.

As a side note, TJ & the Shondells seemed to encourage the use of “crystal meth” (“Crystal Blue Persuasion”), but Tommy claimed the name of the song came to him while studying the Bible. He later claimed to have no memory of the 60s, which proved that he was there.
HUSKYD: another first.... in your BALLS award for "INTERESTING STUFF I DIDN"T KNOW " big pre-game ball. Very interesting....thanks. Always liked the songs and singing of the Shondells, but had no clue about this stuff.

I want to see if they can maintain the level of play they displayed on Tuesday night. If so, it will be a very ugly game for SMU. I don't do score predictions since the one time I played my prediction was embarrassingly off (a man has got to know his limitations :(). I hope to be able to see the entire game, but I have yearly refresher training for the Maryland Urban Search and Rescue Task Force so I might not be home for the start. I missed the first quarter of Tuesday's game.

OZ: yet another FIRST here. A very serious and VERY BIG pregame award for "LAND OF THE FREE AND THE BRAVE" pre-game BALL.
Thank you for what you do and what you sacrifice, OZ. (And, hey, you don't sound like someone who hangs it up based on one failed outing.....plenty of time in the season to make your bones!

You folks on the Boneyard simply have no idea what the Huskies are getting themselves into when they attempt to upset the mighty Mustangs of SMU...do I have to remind you that this team beat Texas Southern by 25 points or that they blew away Grambling State by 20!!!!!!!! Try this one on for size..SMU 77 Seattle University 43 !!!!!!!!! They even decimated then #19 rated Texas A&M by a single point!!!!!! So what that they just lost to East Carolina and Tulane..that's clearly an aberration!!!!!!! They are a tall lean basketball machine and they have made it their life's mission to end the UConn winning streak at 90.....Yes I am the voice of doom and gloom and the more negative I am the better those UConn ladies play......so I say UConn struggles mightily in the first half before they finally shake free from the valiant Mustang defense....final score 87-51......

CHARLIE, CHARLIE, CHARLIE: you've outdone your consistent and great self with this one.....still grinning....I'm rollin the BALLS out on the floor and you pick any one you want..

I think with a shorter bench GA may slow down parts of the game.

82-44

Thank you---I try to not be serious unless I'm speaking of one or more of the UConn Women. Doak Walker was one of the best of the best at SMU during his era. There are a lot of those guys/women locked up in the mushy mass I now call a brain.
Thanks for the kind words---i honestly don't deserve them--thank you very much.

UConn 110 - 45. Huskies a little careless on defense. Butler gets 20 pts. 10 lbs.

94-40, Huskies over Mustangs.

Some of these predictions are really scary. I for one want to see some fight in my opponent and not justhave them faint at the sight of our uniforms. I think this game will follow the usual script with us blowing the doors open early and then SMU getting a little traction in the second half as we go to the bench. I also believe the USF game results got them so high emotionally that there will be a small but perceptible let down. Lets try 91 - 48.

Where's the highly anticipated report from the last game?
Sonny, posted all predictions to USF game on that thread as the ref tossed the ball into the air. The formatting of the spreadsheet is lousy as I can't figure out how to post with the spreadsheet formatting intact - figure someone will look at the array of numbers and take pity on me - all you young guys are computer literate.

Right now, we have 29 fearless prognosticators - and I do mean some are truly fearless. The average MOV sits at 55 points with Zorro's slashing 188 point put down skewing averages a bit. More to follow as we await our Saturday afternoon "fix"

With Crystal out my guess is we tone it down a bit a give the newbies some serious time off the bench: 87 to 52.

Hopefully. Attended the SMU game last year and what stood out to me was how UConn could beat them down the floor any time they wanted. Huskies were in such better physical shape that at times it was a layup drill. Predict that due to the streak, UConn comes out on fire and even with a likely 4th Quarter slow down, the subs will want to show their stuff. SMU a better team this year but 91-46.

According to Geno, this streak is important to the team. I feel bad for SMU. They are about to experience the determination of this team.

UConn 97 - SMU 39.

Good catch---it should have been 96
Broadway, just for clarification - since I want you to reap all the rewards of "spot on" predictions. Back early on you posted a prediction of 107 to 32 - a MOV of 75. In addressing Sonny's question, you offered up the number 96. Not sure where that goes - so, if you could, let us know what numbers are relevant, I'll update your prediction. Thanks - and know that there are two picks with a higher MOV right now.

Too busy reading and posting to borrow Carnac's crystal ball - but, after careful gazing and studious pondering, I see the numbers 82 and 39 - so it's UConn 82 - SMU 39. That's a modest MOV of 43 - anticipating some but not much drop off as the second half is primarily freshman and sub time.
