Score prediction thread for Houston

After tonight's Virginia Tech game, I'm going with an extreme score: Huskies by 95-29.

91-38 our ladies of course. Our starters will play 30+ minutes (because of our short bench) and somewhere someone will tweet that mighty UCONN ladies are running up the score on a "lowly" team.

I'm going with Kia Nurse as the Badass also :D

98 - 39 UConn. MOV 59.

Houston gets put to bed in the 1st quarter.

Kyla gets 10.

With 35 score determinations in (all with UConn on top), the average is UConn 99 and Houston 42; a MOV of 57.

With less than an hour to go, here are the forecasts. I included Massey in here so we can see how well the Boneyard does against the computer.

Looking at Houston's results to date, it's hard to get a handle on them. Some games they have scored a lot but have given up a lot. Other games they have scored little and have given up little. I also suspect that Geno will continue to tweak offensive and defensive sets, letting the bench players get more minutes. This is a home game so that should probably be good for an additional 10 points for the Huskies. Mixing it all together I will go with a final score of 98 for the Huskies and 45 for Houston for a 53 point margin of victory.

OZ: a pre-game INTEREST ball for spelling out your reasoning....enjoyed reading this.

Upset by the stinging criticism from tweeter extraodinare Raul and his Baylor loving sycophants, Geno has UConn play Dean Smith's famous four corner offense for the entire second half resulting in a final score of 84-43

CHARLIE, CHARLIE< CHARLIE: a pre-game HUMOR ball again....always good for a laugh.

UConn 98
UH 40

After a particularly gymnastic shot by Gabs, Geno gets two technicals and is ejected for inappropriate laughter. CD gets a tech for laughing at Geno.

BB: a stretch, but chuckles always welcome.....another pre-game HUMOR ball.

I'm off to a gymnastics meet (granddaughter, not me) but will update with any additional inputs prior to 12:05 PM. One guarantee on where I'll be, no one will score higher than 10 points.

Cougars are red,
Huskies are blue,
Houston goes down
88-42

GMONEY: really adding to your game here, G - always a solid predictor, you've now joined the ranks of those awarded a pre-game POET LAUREATE ball.. If your post here ain't poetry, what is???

CT: Nifty presentation...and nice addition of the Massey. Much appreciated by all I'm sure as is the data from HOOPS HOPPY.

Know I misssed some good stuff, but no more time. ALso, wife and I will not be able to see our game tape until much later today, so any post-game "Hail to the Victor" thread about our winners will be very late....and perhaps not even useful/needed depending upon what else gets posted post-game in this thread. Good luck to all our prescient predictors.....you're on a hot streak.

UCONN 106, Houston 58

KLS - 23
Naphessa Collier - 19
Kia Nurse - 18
Saniya Chong - 12
Gabby Williams - 12
Natalie Butler - 8
Kyla Irwin - 6
Molly Bent - 6
Tierney Lawlor - 2

Real close finish with a number of players within a few points of the actual MOV (49) - but no one hit it exactly. The closest are:

And, with the closest UConn points to the actual, Title Town (aptly named) takes the title.

Carnac was good with the Houston score and was almost the win... until I saw tonehill68's prediction.

Tone, you da man!

At least 4 "point blank" layups were missed by our girls (2 by Collier, & 1 by Lou & Bent). If just one of them had made the lay up, I'd be taking my bows now. :( Congratulations, and happy birthday Mr. Tone. A tip o' the turban to you sir. :) Bows aside, I'm happy we won, and a nod to those posters that were close. Those 12:00 pm games don't seem to agree with our girls.
