Good one. Rooting for the women's team. Strongly dislike the men's team. You expect to see the big boys like UCONN, Texas, Michigan and such. It's great that some of the little guys like Cal Baptist, Duke, Howard, and High Point get a chance to get some shine as well.
How much of this doubling is a reflection of the concertation of economic power among the top DIV 1 schools? The Court settlement has provided a slug of new money to support Div 1 sports programs for some time to come.
Not so surprising. You know what talks? -- $$Sure looks like a record to me. 30 out of 68 schools - 44%. And certainly a number of new entrants! 😄
Exactly. Between the NIL and transfer portal, the deep pockets are attracting more and more of the top talent. Not so surprising. You know what talks? -- $$
My TV is all out of Raleigh-Durham. Three schools, 6 teams, out of the Triangle area... The good news... and the bad news... I'll never see and hear the end of it...
Not only did Howard have both teams in the postseason (I think) for the first time, the men won last night, and that's definitely the first time Howard has won a NCAA tourney game. You expect to see the big boys like UCONN, Texas, Michigan and such. It's great that some of the little guys like Cal Baptist, Duke, Howard, and High Point get a chance to get some shine as well.
and "IN" the Women's NIT.NC State is out
The NC State women won (v. Tennessee, so no more "Hockey style line changes" - so sad... : ( ) in the NCAA first round, and play Michigan in the 2nd round. NC State Men lost in the West Region #11 play in game to Texas. That puts it down to 20 if/when Idaho loses in less than an hour. CBU men are not doing well vs. Kansas in the East #13 v. #4 match up, could be at 19 soon.and "IN" the Women's NIT.
Wow, that's a rough stretch.High Point lost its women's and men's teams in a four hour span tonight 😞😞😞😞😞
