It isn't VERY important but it does matter. The reason is that the refs are usually better in the final. For that reason, I would rather play Stanford in the semis. They aren't quite as physical so, if the refs "let them play", it won't hurt us as much. In an ideal world, we would be playing Louisville and then Stanford.More than likely, they will have to play both of them in order to win the NC. Don’t think who they play first is very important.
I guess you conveniently forgot that for a large part of the season, due to several injuries, UConn’s only decent 3 point shooter was Caroline Ducharme. Also consider that when UConn lost to Oregon, CW, Bueckers, and Fudd were watching from the sidelines, and Juhasz played hurt in that game. Your comparison of season team percentage 3pt shooting is laughable and gets an F in my book. Again, lucky for Stanford, the injury bug has hit Juhasz again, unfortunately. That said it will be a tough game tonight for both teams, though I’m hopeful that UConn’s perimeter offense and defense will carry the day.Oh brother, give it a break. Reading truly is fundamental. Nowhere did I say the talent is equal, but the rosters are built pretty similarly. The tendencies of some of the players are pretty similar too. However, if you actually read with any intent other than to be shady, you would have seen I mentioned UConn has more skill. But, of the five guards you listed, I'm willing to bet the gameplan would be to force them to beat you from the perimeter. That is pretty similar to what Oregon's guards like to do. Like Oregon, UConn has not shown to be very consistent from 3pt range this season. As a team, Oregon shot 33% from, UConn shot 34%. Looks pretty comparable to me. So I'm guessing Tara will devise something to make them prove they can hit those perimeter shots. In the tournament, UConn hasn't shot well from 3, either.
UConn, like Oregon, has guards that like to work the midrange. PaoPao is one of the best in the country at this. Especially now with Juhasz out, UConn really just has two bigs Geno trusts to play big minutes. Oregon was in a very similar situation as Sabally and Prince were relied upon to hold the post down.
