I find this discourse on Boston to be hilarious because it's like deja vu with A'ja.
1.There's the initial high praise of them in high school b as recruits but as soon as they commit elsewhere the conversation changes about how great they will be in some circles.
2. Then once they make some noise in college then they are finally give credit as great players but are not considered generational talent because they aren't versatile enough.
3. They make waves in the WNBA and then the same naysayers doubt if Dawn can succeed without them.

The game with Utah was already scheduled as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase Classic in Uncasville, CT. The teams were announced for this year's Classic back in the middle of June. So the Gamecocks would have played both Stanford AND Utah had Stanford not backed out. The two games that apparently replaced Stanford and Charleston Southern were Mississippi Valley State and Morgan State........

The 2023 Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase will feature a tripleheader of six 2023 NCAA tournament teams, headlined by the 2022 national champion South Carolina Gamecocks and 11-time national champion UConn Huskies.
Yeah I agree with this. I really liked last years team. They were pretty dominant and had a great year and even tho SC is not my team I still have days where I think about how they really should've beat Iowa (such a close game). Imo last year's team should remembered as one of the best college teams that just didn't win. There are several teams in this category, and the fans will always have a place in their heart for those teams.
Lastly, I think it may be sports radio and debate shows, but across sports I think ppl take for granted how hard it is to be the last team standing. So many all time great players never one rings, especially in college and it's quite rare even for the great one's to win more than one. I mean Britney Grinder won 1, Skylar Diggins did not win one. Larry Bird didn't win any, Jordan won 1 his freshman year and never returned to the championship game.

I have a gut feeling she will be suiting up in the garnet and black next year. I have absolutely no reason to be this confident, it's just a feeling.

It helps all 4 of her finalists are non-Texan, southeast region schools. I would be a lot less invested in her recruitment if among those 4, she had any Texas, Louisiana, or Mississippi schools in her finalists. I’m pretty jaded when it comes to HS recruits from TX or CA, which is why I’m not allowing myself to get caught up in any Kennedy Smith recruitment stuff right now.

Well, she had a season ending injury back in January and didn’t even play in the Summer travel leagues. Will be interesting to see if she plays high school ball this year.
At the time she was injured, Hooogurlz had her ranked 12 and Prospect nation ranked her 6. Let’s hope she recovers to what she was.

I'd be very shocked if Tac isn't committing to SC. I think SC ends with Tac and Joyce to go with McDaniel. Potentially Smith but my gut says she stays west.

Too bad. I liked Lee the best of remaining Ws.
Tac is who I would have chosen of all the bigs that weren't Joyce at UA game more than a year ago.
Much bigger upside and played much more like she belonged than the girl from Charlotte.
Course that was just one impression. Could be off.

I think it all depends on how she recovers from the injury. Can she keep up with a running team?

Kennedy Smith still on the board. No love for her? I really like Lee as well but Class of 25’ is chock full of Elite Wings so they could take some next year. I would love to see the coaching staff bring in a class of McDaniel, Tac, Smith, and Edwards. Time will tell.

Well, Mackenly named us in August - the home stretch. So, I would think we are in it. Didn’t look like just a listing of Power hats like Carleton did.
