I disagree. Making an exception for Paige diminishes those that have met the requirements and leapfrogs those that surely will be in the HOF but haven’t made it - yet. Knowing Paige’s character, she would probably be the first to agree with meI know UConn has rules on honoring their athletes when it comes to retiring their number, but with all that Paige had to endure physically and mentally to get to where she is today, she deserves it now. Things may happen in the future that prevent her entry into the HOF, but that would only be a reflection on her professional career not her UConn career. Her freshman season alone is worthy of her enshrinement in the HOF. So many firsts.
But it doesn't matter, because she will have a long professional career and after the allotted time passes, she will be elected to the HOF. I most likely will be ashes before that happens.
She is the player that future players will be judged against.
What a great player, team mate and person. One of the greatest!!!
I really don't think it would ever be an actual consideration, except in my own mind.I disagree. I think you are right. I don't like it, but you're right.I disagree. Making an exception for Paige diminishes those that have met the requirements and leapfrogs those that surely will be in the HOF but haven’t made it - yet. Knowing Paige’s character, she would probably be the first to agree with me
