Saturday lineup (11/30) | Page 2 | The Boneyard

Saturday lineup (11/30)

Washington tops Iowa, 70-63. That's strange; the scoreboard at Warren Nolan had Iowa leading this game...then, all of a sudden, it changed. I was wondering, Plebe, if you and I were monitoring the same game..or perhaps, living in alternate universes!

Nicholls falls to North Florida, 64-61, bless their little hearts; they keep battling.

Virginia Tech up on Georgia, 33-29, at halftime.

Wake Forest dominating ECU, 45-29. This will be a big win for Wake, and Jen Hoover, if they can take this game.

Don't look now but Oregon State is trailing Liberty, 27-19, in mid-2Q.

Oregon State better wake the heck up... or risk slipping in my Boneyard Poll

People have mentioned Grad Transfer PG Cooper vs her previous school tonight. Currently Grad Transfer PG Cole is playing her previous school UGA. VPI led at the half... but UGA currently leads 58-51 in the 4th quarter

Would be a solid win for Georgia if they hang on.

It’s not at all clear to me it that win will me of much value. I guess compared to some of Georgia’s performances any win is good news.

People with Flohoops should switch to the Cancun tournament where Florida Gulf coast and South Dakota State are going down to the wire. This is been a high-quality, back-and-forth game

Georgia's starters have 11 rebounds with 9 seconds to go. 6'4" Jenna Staiti with 1.

A good backyard battle between James Madison and Thomas Jefferson's old school over on the ACCNx... 26-25 for the Dukes

I think it should be noted that we will see a true rarity in the next hour...

Miami is playing Miami
&
Utah Valley is playing Antelope Valley

You can't make this stuff up.

Totally insane finish in the FGCU-SDSU game. SDSU, down 1 point, got a go-ahead layup with 9 seconds left and then FGCU drove the length of the floor with and took the lead right back.

This was the game of the weekend so far just in terms of wild excitement, and that finish.

Gotta admit I'm a little surprised by OSU's struggle with Liberty. It's not like they're a quality mid major.

I'm sure it'll end up a 20 pt win.

Rutgers and Georgia Tech going down to the wire.

GT up 39-38 with 4:00 to play. First team to 45 wins.

Well, congrats to Rutgers as they were first to 45. GT had a chance to tie but Pan's layup just hung on the rim before falling out. Rutgers has the ball up 45-43 with 9.5 seconds left.

Maryland held Belmont to 6% shooting in the first quarter leading 12-3. It could be a long year scoring the ball for the Terps.

Oklahoma trails Wichita State at the half, 50-37.

Sadly, I had to choose from a pathetic option of games on the ESPN app and have chosen Oklahoma vs. Wichita St and to my pleasant surprise WSU is up big on Oklahoma at the half by 13. I am still not convinced that Sherri has a good team even if they are young. I also don’t care if all the scholarships are endowed as OU, it’s time for Coale to go. She is not going to make the tournament this year and is one of the highest paid coaches in WCBB. Wake up OU Athletic Director, it’s time....

So in reviewing Oklahoma’s schedule, they play 3 American teams and have already lost to Houston, losing to Wichitaand play UConn. Maybe they want to be an affiliate member to boost the conferences RPI? On the bright side for the Sooners, they did beat Stephen F Austin this year...
Well, considering very few schools Fire WCBB coaches with years left on their contracts and
Sherri Coale’s contract is through 2022, she’s safe.
McCallie’s contract is through 2021 so she’s probably safe.
White’s contract is to 2022 (given a 6 yr contract in 2016) so she’s safe, for now
Jen Hoover is Wake Forest’s coach, Hired in May of 2012, she has been by far the most abject failure of this group and somehow got an extension from the Old AD. The new AD will not be so kind-John Currie, so this could/should be her last year.
Brandon Schneider is Kansas Coach and somehow was given an extension in 2018 until 2022 but his contract is only $300k so no onerous to buy out.
So for me, Hoover s/be #1, McCAllie #2, and for all Aston does to NOT coach, Texas has been relevant during her career and has gotten talent. Is that enough, who knows but likely the AD is more cautious given the last hire of Gail and her failure.

UCLA in some trouble against Central Florida. Which is odd because I hear the Pac-12 is amazing and the American is just awful.

Odd day when Wichita State beats Oklahoma, UCLA is beating UCF, and Houston is getting thumped by San Francisco and USF loses their third in a row on the weekend.

Huge win for Wichita State though. Will be a big win for UCF if they can pull it off.

AAC has been all over the place early. I'll be interested to see who takes second.

The Tulsa-Marquette game had a similar ending to Auburn-Dayton. Tulsa player missed both FTs at the end of the game to give Marquette a 1-point win.
