Not only did Clemson go for it they run a dive play up the middle on 4th and 4, I have never seen anything so stupid.

Scary part, they didn't look very good for an entire quarter and only decent for the 1st half...then BOOM...they are up 30. And, they aren't sure who their QB will be. If they can avoid bordom them will be scary at the end of the season.

BYU-Arizona is on FS1, great to see Taysum Hill out there, he's been at BYU forever he's gotta be a super super senior.

Been on Wyoming +10 all week. Thanks weather I didn't want to sleep.
 
Well 'ol Whaler Harpooned you one this week. Sure you had to stay up until 4 AM Eastern but it's been a pretty good game is you have CBSSN. It's amazing how many people are still in that stadium in the middle of the night. There really must be nothing to do in Wyoming.
 
I am a bit sad Wyoming won't be a winner on the field - but thankfully you can't lose by 10 in OT.
 
If Wyoming loses this game to Northern Illinois they got screwed. They kicked the game winning FG at the buzzer and the 'icing' timeout came after the snap.

Of course the kid missed the second FG attempt. The replay is clear that the ball was snapped before the first attempt.
 
They have a replay and the ball is snapped long before anyone blows a whistle. Why does college football have replay if the actual replays don't matter.

Replay should be shot in a rocket to the sun. It somehow gets more calls wrong than right.

Wyoming should have won this game in the first OT after a turnover. The amount of people still there is fairly amazing. I can only imagine I am the only person in Connecticut who can't believe how stupid Wyoming was in first OT.
 
Overall, a fun first weekend for college football.

With BYU in relatively good shape for a Big 12 invite, Mendenhall has to be second guessing his decision to go to Virginia. UVa is where coaches' careers go to die, and Mendenhall has no institutional goodwill at UVa like he did at BYU.

Mike Leach with an ugly loss in Week 1.

The SEC was 3 plays away (Tennessee/App State, LT/Arkansas, UCLA/A&M) from a gruesome first weekend. Ole Miss can bring back some mojo for the league. Another week like this, and the SEC can kiss a second playoff bid goodbye, because there won't be enough quality wins in the league to get a 1 loss Georgia into the playoffs.

Assuming ND tunes up Texas tonight (a safe assumption), the Big 12 had a rocky start. The most realistic contender for a playoff spot go picked off by Houston, and #2 in the league was up 7 on the Jackrabbits in the 4th quarter. There is still time to make it up, but the league needs to pick up some quality non-league wins, otherwise it will need to have an undefeated team to even have a chance at a playoff spot. For those wondering, Iowa State is 2-2 against Northern Iowa in its last 4 meetings, with one of those Iowa State victories by 1 point.
 
Wyoming scores instantly in the second OT and then UNI makes a ridiculous catch and we go to OT3.

Yeah people expected something decent out of Wazzu. That was a brutal loss.
 
I'm not sure a game has ever ended later on the east coast than this. UNI has fourth and 5 from the 20 in OT3. Thankfully they missed. Can't wait to see how Wyoming keeps this alive.

You are quite the trooper for making it all the way until 4:30 just to watch the Wyoming game. Wish I had that dedication but two small kids make me exhausted by 8:30! I salute you sir!
