Really, really, really. You know what? We are gonna be really really good.

I am pretty confident her mom is on the same page with Geno on this one. After last season, during an interview, Sarah was asked what she needed to work on for this coming season. Her answer was, “Leadership.” Clearly, with Paige and Kaitlyn moving on to the W, Geno had already made it clear to Sarah that in addition to her remarkable basketball skill set, he expected her to use her voice as a leader on the team going forward.
So far, so good…….
She said Kayleigh at the beginning and Heckel later. I think that just shows the kind of banter that takes place with players. Means nothing and surely it was accepted by Kayleigh as just a "way to go". From the brief glimpses we've been fed this team looks to be building a close, supportive relationship that will be an indispensable bond in making this a very successful season.Funny, interesting? She called everyone by their first name...except Heckel. (just an observation)
Has Geno entered the Boneyard?Really, really, really.
I sure hope not. Sarah and Blanca were on the same time.It was Blanca.
Speaking of people who have been a bit missing this summer, it was good to see Ice Brady on the court. I hope that she, too, is healthy and doing well.Loved the video. When Azzis micd up came out I was hoping Sarah would do one. Quick thoughts: I do think she's 6'2 but... Blanca looks the same height and Carol looks a little taller. Lol. I feel like Jana has been a bit missing this summer. Hope she's healthy and doing well.
Using last names during practice is what I remember as the friendly kind of teasing - usually in attempts in the same tone to imitate the coach - that players all will say during their drills and practice sessions. It's all in fun and it's all good.In Azzi’s mic’s up vid she called her Kayleigh. But Sarah calls her Heckel. This all seems very amusing.
Have they been teasing Sarah about being short for long?
I noticed that she certainly didn't call Kelis by her self appointed nickname 'Big Fish'. In fairness to Fisher though, Sarah didn't call her 'Gup Gup' either!Funny, interesting? She called everyone by their first name...except Heckel. (just an observation)
It was Blanca.
I'm sure it's accepted, just made me wonder why? It's not shorter. There's no one else named Kayleigh. Just hmmmm? She said Kayleigh at the beginning and Heckel later. Precautionary, offseason nose surgery.Did I catch a glimpse of Allie wearing a face mask? Did she injure her nose, perhaps?
I am already seeing an enormous transformation in Sarah. Last year during postgame pressers, Geno practically begged her to speak more than a 1-2 word answer to questions. During games, in player huddles, she basically deferred to Paige, Kaitlyn & KK.Just an observation, not a criticism, at this point of her career, Sarah is more of a lead by example type leader and what a great lead to follow.
Lots of fun, lots of good looks
I think Sarah looks to be in better shape as well. Not that she was out of shape last season but she looks to have worked on her body over the off season. Imagine that! The freshman who terrorized women’s basketball last season is looking better in all aspects of her game and has a better supporting cast to boot! Be afraid! Be very afraid! I just wish November 4th would hurry up and get here!🙏I am already seeing an enormous transformation in Sarah. In this one short practice video, Sarah had more to say than I heard from her during the entire season last year. Obviously, Azzi, KK, Caroline and others will all shoulder some of the leadership responsibilities this coming season. But I also believe that Sarah will lead by her example as well as her voice.
If Sarah is her and is already playing better than last year then Blanca is her 2 and is already better than advertised.A couple additional comments about the video. Sarah looks fitter and faster than last year. 🤩
Blanca is my X-factor. On the film I have watched of her in the Italian pro league, she does everything well, with the exception of shooting from the arc, which I have described as a, “Work in progress.” In this video Blanca knocks down two 3-pt shots. 😎
Good, good, good to see you upbeat, for a change. LMAOYou know what? We are gonna be really really good.
OD, I agree that a leader needs a voice. A leader cannot be a wall flower. But, leadership goes so much further than just being vocal. There has to be high levels of trust, respect, and other intangibles. I've played sports with some guys who were basically loud mouths. I'd rather have them thrown off the team than say they were "leaders".After last season, during an interview, Sarah was asked what she needed to work on for this coming season.
