I know I am stating the obvious as we all are seeing the same thing. Her play this year is so much better than last year. Who would think that was possible?
One play, she blocks a pass at half court, saves it from going out of bounds, and then drives to the rim and scores. Crazy.
The only player, IMO, who was close to that was Maya Moore.
The Peacock Play by Play woman says that Sarah looks like she is playing against children.
Geno in his press conference, where he is mostly guarded about over praising, stated that Sarah just makes difficult plays look simple, when they are really not. She is so competitive that missing ONE shot makes her angry, and with everything she does, diving one the floor is not beneath her.
He said her rebounding is more impressive to him that her shooting, as she is always near where the ball is going.
You can see it in his face that he and his coaches know how special a player she is.

The best ridiculous play that has always come to mind for me was when Stewie chased the fast break down the court and then proceeded to block 3 shots by 3 different shooters, all on the same possession.

Last year it was, "we have Paige and you don't", this year it's "we have Sarah and you don't". I believe this team may become one of the Top 5 UConn teams that ever played at Storrs.

Sarah will be this year's MVP ~~~
MVP or POY?

Her stats dwarf the other noted contenders-mainly Betts, Hidalgo and Booker. I think due to the mediocrity of ND, Hannah will fall out of consideration. UCLA and Betts have some interesting games with Texas, Tennessee and conference games against Michigan and USC that will either help or hurt her chances. I like Booker but she just won't have enough offensive stats (points, assists, steals) to justify overtaking the stats that both Betts and Strong can put up. Being biased, Strong makes everyone better with all the skills she possesses. Betts, while a great post player, does not really make the teammates better. She needs the ball from them, her passing is suspect, her steals are non-existent, and she has a limited mid-range shot. Again, I am biased.

Go SARAH

I said this last year and I’ll say it again. I would not be surprised to see her (Strong) get a quadruple double before she leaves UConn. I realize Geno’s tendency to pull his players in blowouts may be a problem but Strong is so
dominant in so many areas I really think she’s got a shot!

I’m hoping for a 5x5 at some point … pts, steals, blocks, reb, assists. May be more likely than QD

Last season one of the hallmarks of Sarah’s ability to rebound in heavy traffic was her ability to get rid of the ball quickly. She wasted no time offloading the ball to one of the guards before she could be tied up into a held ball situation. Her great hand strength makes it really difficult for opponents to get the ball away from her. But also her great court awareness allows her to find teammates quickly. This season she seems to have added Paige’s signature long bomb passes off a defensive rebound. We saw a beautiful example against tOSU with that length of the court pass to Serah. I hope to see many more of those.
