The website for next week's FIBA 3x3 World Championships (both Men (4 days from now) & Women (5 days from now)) is:

https://fiba3x3.com/2025/worldcup/games

can go to "games" and filter by teams (USA men, USA women):

Men are in Pool B, and play Japan (#15) @ 4:45 a.m. June 23rd (half way around the world (UTC +8, EDT is UTC -4 ==> 12 hours time difference), and Mongolia (#10) at 6:25 a.m.; on June 25th: Latvia (#7) at 4:45 a.m., and Montenegro (#16) at 7:50 a.m.;

The women are in Pool B, and play Czechia (#10) at 1:40 a.m. on Jun 24th, and Netherlands (#1 on the current series, and #2 to China's #1 in this tournament) at 4:20 a.m.; on Jun 25th at 11:50 p.m. vs. Japan (#15); on June 26th at 2:05 a.m. vs. Chile (#17).

Five teams in each pool ==> four games each; round of "16" is NOT, but have 8 teams in the "knock-out" round to play the #1 team emerging from pool play in the quarter finals, so advantage to the #1's to be well rested OR (if not the #1's) you have been able to "workout" the lactic acid in your muscles and are fully warmed up to take on a #1 that you have not played yet!

Good mindset (always) either way!!

USA! USA!! USA!!! Go Strong!!!!

The men (Caruso, Hahn, Parrott, and Travis) are seeded #2, and the women (same team with Sarah Strong, Maly, Williams & Williams) as this week's competition) are seeded #7 (moved up significantly due to their runners-up finish in Mongolia this morning).

USA! USA!! USA!!!

Some "odd and ends" from recent 3x3 competition stats:
USA: Most Rebounds: 85, most reb per game 17
Most Blocked shots 11
Most (team) points 101, most ppg 20.2
Shot Efficiency # 2 Canada was #1
Shot "Value" # 2 13.5, Canada was #1
Number of one-point shots made n = 70 #1 USA #2 in "attempts"
#1 in one point shot percentage 73%
# 3 in two-point shooting behind Australia, Japan, and Germany
# 1 in "Key Assists"
But not so good in Free Throw % 68 percent (nowhere near the top)
I suppressed the "T.O." stats for both TEAM values and individual players.
I 'm confident we will do better in the WORLD CUP 3x3 tournament next week...
and that is the tournament that "COUNTS"... IMHO!
More Available for team results and players ratings on the webpage for
the tournament. The analytics are extensive.
I just rechecked the stats and here are SOME of Sarah's "Stats".
Points: 20 PPG: 4, 17/25 on one-point shots: 68%
0/8 on two-point shots 0 %, Free Throws: 3/6 50%
Blocked Shots: 7, This was #1 of all players.
Rebounds 25, 5 rebounds per game

We are actually the defending champions. But we had brink. And she really dominated the paint.

There are going to be better teams than that Australian team that beat us.

Let’s see how it goes I guess. That team with Brink that won this event lost multiple times in the group stage if I remember correctly.

USA beat Australia in the group stage with both games very tight.

Netherlands will be tough in the group stage, but USA should advance to the knock-out round.

USA’s downfall will be three point shooting. Other teams throw up contested prayers from behind the arc and they somehow go in sometimes.

The US beat the Netherlands 15-12 in a physical tussle in game 2.
Great work by the USA to BEAT the #2 ranked team 15-11 in the HEAT!

Get to the A/C women!!! All y'all earned this one!!! Rehydrate & Refuel for two more in two days!

Next up: vs. Japan @ 23:50 (11:50 p.m. EDT) tomorrow! Both USA & Japan won their 1st two games...

USA! USA!! USA!!! Go STRONG!!!

The USA men completed pool play 4-0, scoring 21 pts in all four to put them directly into the quarter-finals vs. the winner of Netherlands (#5 seed) and the 3rd place team out of Pool A (TBD), at a date/time TBD.

The women play tonight at 11:50 p.m. EDT vs. Japan. When the women win, that will put them in the driver's seat for a place in the quarter-finals (avoiding the "Knock-out" round); Sarah is having an amazing tourney so far!

USA! USA!! USA!!!

A weirdly officiated second game. A few touch fouls on both teams, several calls slow motion replays prove were flat-out errors (baseline out-of-bounds call, and three second in the lane), and a couple of calls that are rarely seen (technical foul on a delay of game on a substitution, and palming when the Sahara was backing down a player). Both teams were in the penalty situation for the last few minutes and the USA was in a double-penalty for the last two minutes.

I am not a fan of the refs in 3x3 staying in one spot and rarely moving.

Yikes - I saw her very first game (I think it was) in the qualifying tournament and commented that she looked really flat and average. She must have been really jet lagged or something cuz... she's been incredible since then!

I watched her against the Netherlands - yikes! Night and day! One thing that surprised me was how strong she was in the post scoring thru contact, but more surprising was the lack of fouls called on the opponents who tried to man handle her... She's been fantastic.

That game against Japan was really easy. USA 21-8 I think.

Strong was the best player on the court.
Yes!!! 21-8, with Strong getting the last point with 2:46 left on the clock. Tremendous game, as Japan had finished each of their previous games with 21 pts before the time ran out. Lots of blocks at the 2 pt arc, with Strong leading there as with most categories.

all session one games at:

Chile women playing right after USA [rain delay with 4:46 to go with Netherlands up 11 - 7], and USA plays Chile at 2:05 am today (not sure if a rain delay goes long...

USA! USA!! USA!!! Go Strong!!!!
