Sarah Strong is Big East player of the week

The Huskies have such a talented group of young ladies that I believe they will have the BE Player of the Week almost every week with at least 2 players being either on the Honor Roll or one as the Player of the Week and one on the Honor Roll.

I could be wrong, but I'm not sure UConn will get freshman of the week. Is Blanca considered a freshman? Nothing against our freshmen, but will they get the minutes?

Ally Timm, DePaul, R-Fr., G
Timm averaged 20.5 points per game, 2.0 steals, 1.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week with a 92-54 victory over Valparaiso and a loss to MWC preseason favorite UNLV. In the victory over Valparaiso, she had a career-high 28 points behind a blistering 80 percent shooting from behind the arc. The guard added two rebounds, two assists and four steals in the outing. In the loss against UNLV, she finished with 13 points, two rebounds and one block.

How many times have we UConn fans been able to say that precise thing about a players chance of being conference player of the week and year, and first team AA. A player that almost always was clearly the best player on the court game after game. Most fans never get to see such a transcendent player on their team. For us it is common place:

DT - 2003 and 04
Maya - 08, 09, 10, 11
Breanna - 14, 15, 16
Paige - 21, 24, 25

Sarah is next in line.

Not only do you show the 4 on UConn's Mt. Rushmore, but Sarah nudge someone off of the mountain. Time will tell.

You guys are making me laugh. OK, who posted about Easter Island and all those things there? Maybe instead of Mt. Rushmore we should be talking about Easter Island monuments. 😊

Where did you see this award? I haven't heard any mention of it anywhere including during the Loyola game where the BE POW was mentioned.

I didn't think Paige was on MT Rushmore yet. If so, who did she replace?

If that's correct (regarding PB) then we need a MT R. - (2), starting with Paige. Based on her on the court and now off the court contributions to the Program, I would make RL the 2nd person and reserve a spot for a STRONG current player. That leaves a spot open for you long-time Husky fans to decide on.

We are truly blessed to have to start a second Mount. Does any other WBB program have more than 4 clear favorites for their Mount?
