It's not terrible in New Canaan all things considered, but it's definitely worse than Irene. They said that they won't even begin restoring power until Friday, and it may be another week until I get it back.

Here are some photos of the RI coast mostly Misquamicut and Narragansett. Every gap between houses was a house that was swept to sea.

That third pic with the water slides and carousel is just crazy to me. I can remember so many summer days spent there as a kid at Misquamicut State Beach. Brings back great memories. So sad it was that damaged. I hope it can be salvaged.

We went 48 hours without power. Just when we resigned ourselves to another 4 or 5 days without it (following the latest 'code red' alert from the town) it came back on. I live in Monroe. My two brothers live in Shelton and Milford. We all got power back within 10 minutes of each other. Weird.

I'm still not going to unplug the generator till tomorrow.

I was not as I live in Seattle now. Thanks for the nice thoughts though.

That was ugly stuff........that golf course which was impacted had to be Weekapaug as that did not look like the 4 holes that sit on the bay at Winnepaug???

Maybe Misquamicut CC......no matter awful stuff down there as well as narragansett...............
