Eli already has more Passing yards&TD's than Plunkett had in his whole career.
Different eras. Different rules. Can't compare them individually like that. You can only compare where they rank vs. their contemporaries.

There has been at least 3 QBs better than Rivers in his own conference throughout his career and now Flacco is pushing him for the 4th position.

To be fair two of the 3 in his own conference are All Time Great QBs. I mean, Brady and Peyton, will be top 5 type QBs all time so that is a little misleading. That said, Rivers last year and a half have not been as good as previous years.

Which makes his Pro Bowl appearances even more hollow. Since the 2004 season (Rivers' rookie year), The AFC has been represented by Pittsburgh, Indy, or New England every single year. So that more or less knocks the alltime greats mentioned and Big Ben out of the Pro Bowl. Brady was hurt in 2008, Manning last year, and Rivers didn't make either PB Team in those years.

I'm not saying that Rivers isn't a serviceable, or even above average, starting QB. What I'm saying is one cannot go by Pro Bowl appearance when determining a players' NFL greatness.

I am not arguing Pro Bowls or anything but 2008-10 for him are as good as Big Ben (he was better than Ben actually). Big Ben never made All Pro either. If Rivers plays like 5 or 6 more years and his stats are somewhere between what he did in 2008-10 and last year, he will be in the Hall of Fame or very very close to getting in.

Rivers average stats over 2008-10 - 4324 yards 30 TD 11 INT and 65% completion

Ben - average stats over 2008-10 - 3609 yards 20 TD 10 INT 62% completion
