Same Title, Different Song

Planxty actually had two different traditional songs called "As I roved out" on the same album. This one, by Andy Irvine, is one that's brought tears to me many times. It's about a guy who gives up his true love to marry for money.

I miss this kind of soulful arrangement.

I was listening to the Stones after work in honor of Charlie Watts. First Aftermath, then Let it Bleed, which contains this masterpiece:

The more familiar (to me) Monkey Man is by the Maytals. I found a video of Amy Winehouse doing this which is well worth checking out.

I just heard this for the first time -- I actually heard a (fairly) modern cover, but the song's from 1967.

And here's Emmylou with her beautiful song of the same name:

if you search 'enough is enough, eric clapton' you will see this 2 day old song. a song with two names, if you will.
