Met Sam Jones back in 1978 at a trade show in the Astrodome during booth set up. Sam was working for Nike (before they were Nike) and they were next to my booth. During setup we smuggled in pizza and beer and we all had lunch together. Sam was a real good guy.
I'm not sure I understand your post.

When you think bank shot you do think of Sam that's for sure, sweet stuff back in the day.

He and Satch Sanders could be seen quite often at Max's at the Basketball HOF quite often as they visited people there in Springfield. Satch was there with his wife last summer actually……...

I had a friend who went to jail. He said there is too much time on your hands and every memory becomes a reality because the play button last so long. Just can't get Shot out of your head.

However they did not have computers in jail back then. Nowadays prisoners brain farts become our reality and consequently our problem. They can clear their heads at our expense.

Scotty Pippen the best bank shooter in the last 20 years but without a doubt the best bank shooter of all time was Elvin Hayes.

Do you feel he's better bank shooter than Tim Duncan? It seemed at one point that's all he shot.

This was the first thing I thought of. Probably 70% of Duncan's shots in the 2000s were bank shot.

The best bank shooter I've seen is anyone shooting a desperation three against us at the end of the shot clock. Swear those go in every time.

Did not see some of the old guys in their prime but everyone's fighting for a first-place tie with Tim Duncan.

I've read Chapwilvaug's posts and come up with a basic profile:

The only explanation is he is a 60+ year old meth head who likes UConn basketball and may have been stalking Susan Herbst during the victory parade in Hartford.

This is based off the following:
- Most people under 60 don't know Sam Jones had a great bank shot
- Only a meth / crack head would post incohherent ramblings on the boneyard between 3 and 4 a.m.
- His post about Susan Herbst being sleek and lithe still makes me laugh.

Apropos of nothing, Sam Jones was a phenomenally gifted player. He was so smooth that when you read the box score, you couldn't believe he scored, say, 25 points. His persona was understated and he has taken somewhat of a back seat to Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, and John Havlicek when discussing the Celts and their unbelievable championship run in the 60's. But Sam Jones was key to that Celtic run.

Sam could shoot from all over the place, he was a great scorer.

Pippen used the bank from all over. Sometimes it would seem like he was almost behind the backboard and the bank was still open.

But the BIG E owned the bank.

BTW, I always thought that Ajou Deng had a nice bank shot but he rarely used it and didn't develop it.

I picture him in a room with only a 40 watt, bare bulb hanging from and old ceiling fixture, seated on a plain, wooden chair with a laptop on his lap, typing furiously to finish his post before the battery runs out. No time for punctuation, much less time to think through what the hell he's posting about.
