I will be there wearing a white 2004 UConn cap. Would love to meet some Boneyarders. Let me know

Im excited to hear about this. With the Europe trip a couple years ago we got a super early glimpse of how the team looks. This event as well as the BC pre season game will be a good glimpse. From Twitter it sounds like right now 11 are healthy enough to scrimmage. Still 40+ days left until the season but I found it interesting.

Yuck. Let's hope the injury bug is not striking already.

Ash's thigh was taped so probably precautionary that she didn't go all out in the scrimmage. Maggie also posted that Blanca Quinonez and Jana El Alfy appeared to be limited today.

Having fifteen players seems like a great idea when you see something like this........If there are going to be injuries, better now than later....

I'm sure there are gonna be tons of clips and hopefully some interviews. From looking at Twitter it does seem Azzi and Kayleigh played well. This could very well be a starting lineup

This was really good. Thanks for posting.

So I'm stir crazy and ready to overanalyze jk. I do have some quick thoughts, some are just generally from the off season but extend to the practice (based on clips and articles. Look forward to hearing from those that attended).

1. Knocking on wood of course but Azzi and Caroline physically are probably in the best condition they've been respectively for a long time. You just look at Azzi and she just looks like an athlete confident in her body. Caroline looks good as well. For Azzi to now be 20+ months post acl, 6+ plus months post knee issues, I just think that's great. Second musing, and I think this will come up during the season, Azzi imo will be option number 1, and put up 18 shots a game. I get she has the shy reputation but she's not bashful. The unofficial box score said she was 5-13. I feel she's always been pretty aggressive. I'm actually hoping Caroline regains that aggression she had her freshman year but different times so we'll see.
2. Serah Williams transition. Ucoonwbweekly had a blog post recapping the event. He briefly mentioned her struggling as a newcomer. Once again it's September, she truly is supposed to struggle. But I just think the big rotation is so talented. I think ice at this point is a bit underrated. So her pushing Serah for the starting role if that comes to be isnt that surprising..
3. One thing that came to mind, and Geno of course has a ton of options but any chance they start KK and Kayleigh Heckel together. I think I saw a clip of them playing together. I actually really hope they do play together because both are so fast and aggressive.

It was great to see Ayanna Patterson looking comfortable and confident. She is such a marvel. The languid athleticism of Gabby Williams combined with the force of Alyssa Thomas. And if Paige is to be believed, Ayanna has the most riz of anyone on the team.[/MEDIA]
