S. Carolina vs. Miss. State game thread...

Wow, Geno's in the house, alongside Carol Callan and Sue Bird and Tina Charles, watching the game.
 
MSU down by 9 early in the second. Their offence has reverted to form and they're having trouble scoring. How on earth did we manage to lose to these guys?
 
Gee SC getting most of the calls. What a surprise. However I can't be too mad about it, if we were more aggressive we could have gotten more calls too.

Because anything can happen in one game. If we played them 3 out of 5 you know we would win at least 3.

That's what made Friday hurt so much. So so close to winning it all again. I think if we were playing South Carolina we'd be cruising right now.

Miss St flat as a pancake as I thought they might be after the UConn win, hopefully they can pick up there play soon..........

Don't underestimate MSU's 60-point margin of loss as a super motivator.

Yeah I think Vic even said something like that before the game that they don't have to win a best of seven, they just need that one game.

after that last game, if UConn played Miss St five more times the would win all five

I was worried about MSU having a letdown. They've played out of their minds for two games straight, now it seems they are returning to form.
 
I'd call time out right here if I were Vic. 29-18 South Carolina 3:57 2nd
 
There was a stat that the last 3 times a team beat UConn in the semi's, they lost in the finals. Beating UConn really takes an emotional toll on a team apparently.

Miss St is not playing with the same intensity that they did against UConn. Playing their Normal Offensive Game. Expect So Carolina to win by 25+ points.
 
Sloppy, disjointed game. If it wasn't for the NC, I wouldn't be watching. Neither team looks like they beling here. But, oh well.
 
I've been watching MSU all year on ESPN3, and the thing is, this really is their regular form. Two things. First, SC is just not a good matchup for them. SC is used to the dribble drive and beating teams with strong one-on-one play to and at the rim. MSU used pressure and pass-deny defense to force UConn was to play that same style, and it's just not UConn's game. Second, it really can't be overstated just how poorly the Huskies played on Friday. They laid an egg big time.

Man, I was really bummed Friday night. Then I got over it. Now I'm getting bummed again looking at Miss State sucking against an SC team we thumped pretty good. Argh....

Gotta agree.

Collier especially should have been able to get to the basket and score pretty easily like SC's wings are doing. She did...she just uncharacteristically missed most of her shots. :(

In response to your AA question, there may have been a WCBB player in the 80's/early 90s who transferred from La Tech to Old Dominion; May have even been originally from Connecticut; Name eludes me.
