Rrezon Elezaj is entering the transfer portal

Given that we just got home a few days ago, makes sense our portal announcements would come later than others.

Wonder how many of these we see, beyond just the guys who only played in blowouts.

This should be expected. We should recall what Dan told us about roster spots 9 and above were. Good practice spots. If those players want to move on from being a practice squad player to the main stage they needed to show they should move up or leave to a lower level.

I'm hoping wherever he lands he takes what he learned here and succeeds.

I really wouldn't read too much into this as far as the state of this program or other transfers. He wasn't going to play here. Just like any other fan base, we have our "the world is ending" never happy group who thinks this means the whole team will leave and we won't replace the ones who do leave.

I think it's out there now that we turned down one of the top portal guys two years ago after a visit. People are going to want to come here.

I was hopeful he could develop into a solid accompaniment to Reibe but I guess he wasn't far enough along in his development. I wish him well at his next school where hopefully he gets a chance to shine.

Why four years was he red shirt this year?
Good Q - he played in 3 games, so maybe hoping whatever the new NCAA rule (latest yahoo story vs similar to CFB) is implemented soon?

nobody thinks this, when he was brought in the beatwriters told us he and Uros were practice players

Surprised he didn't just go home and play pro over there. Must like college life over here a bit.

These roster spots are nothing more than one year leases. There was never going to be a sophomore year - bringing him in for a year was good for the player and good for the program.

Reibe is 6'10.5, it's weird they list him at 7'1.
How do you know? Giving him 2.5 inches is a ton, consistent with how they list through.

The other data point that has to be a non fact is the Solo Ball 44 inch vertical. I don't know where he was measured or any merit, but I can bet you the mortgage that Solo Ball doesn't even hit 35 inches. For a guy with his length, throwing down a one handed slam is not even that comfortably above the rim.

The rule of thumb since at least the mid 1990's was that they measure the kids in sneakers and round up. If the sneakers have 2" soles (most basketball shoes have at least that) 7' 1" is what would be expected of someone 6' 10.5" barefoot.

His measurements from last year's Nike Hoop Summit, he's 6'11.75" in shoes so a 7fter

From the Nike hoop summit this time last year. The measurements were taken in basketball sneakers. It's why whenever people would try and compare him to Clingan I would say he's nothing like him and a much smaller human.
