Yes, he's been there for a championship and last year, but when he was needed, he was not afraid of the moment. He was very good on defense and gave a big lift on offense in the first half. He really helped clamp UCLA down in the second half. Watching the kids who stay in and grow in the system just makes me proud as a fan.

That is the main thing and has always been his biggest obstacle: being afraid of the moment. When he isn't afraid of the moment he plays much better and we all can see what he brings to the team. The way most players just need to see a shot go in to get them going, for Ross playing good defense can help him get into the flow of the game.

He has the length combined with the athleticism that is much needed for this team that is short on the latter. I have said for a while now, he cannot be an afterthought. Ross needs to get substantial minutes.

With Stew on the bench, there are needed minutes and Ross is filling them well. He has a high level of versatility on defense and now is having a better go scoring the ball. An emerging glue guy for the team. I liked the kid even when he was a freshman. The energy has always been there, he just needed a couple of years to shape it into something useful, now really useful.

Ross is both quick and fast. He is long and is starting to learn how important it is to stay on the floor defensively. He can take the tough assignment of guarding quick and talented guards. He is at a level right now that I honestly didn’t expect to see. I don’t think that our opponents expected to see this from him either. He could be a huge catalyst for us going forward. Ball will and should start in my mind but Ross brings things to the table that every team needs. He likely is going to see some big minutes coming up.

I know it's on low volume, but he is shooting almost 38% from beyond the arc this year. I can't figure out Ross's true ceiling, but I get a feeling he will show us even more in his senior season.
He’s showing more every game as we go. He’s a big part of it now. Lock down D, under the radar, next thing you know he dropping a 3. Kid is valuable.

I'm not sure either but he's shown flashes of doing a lot on the court.

The defense of course.

He's made some tough contested 3s both catch and shoot and off the bounce.

He's shown off an ability to rise up and make pull up jump shots.

He's a willing passer off the pick and roll and isn't afraid to push the ball on the fastbreak.

He checks a lot of boxes. I truly wonder how he will be deployed next season.

I'm telling you guys , i think he might make the biggest junior to senior year leap!!
Probably not a feature guy, but if he can bring his current overall play to a 30 minute assignment, he's a player that allows the team to play for titles.

He actually has a decent stroke. He’s just never been seen in that light because the 3 room is crowded. If he’s open and squared he should take some shots

Love how he’s developed. Not designed to be a feature guy, but if he can average 10/game and provides all the other stuff, he’s gold. We’ll have to see who else is back. I can see him, Demary and Mullins in working well together.

I want every non-senior back. Every. Single. One

When he’s at a spot he likes, he should definitively take the shot, unless the shot clock hasn’t run much.

I never saw this coming on the offensive side for Ross. I’m eating humble pie and it tastes damn good. Whoever worked with him on the confidence part I’m begging, please help Solo.

Ross is a boss, and I like that our coaching staff never misses an opportunity to trick and toy with an opposing team. We knew UCLA was going to focus on Reed so we used that to work some open looks for the shooters, and I felt they had a bit more time than they usually do to shoot.

Now Reed had a quiet game and Karaban showed out. Ross made sure any team watching the tape will pay attention. I’m betting the staff will be watching what MSU does when Ross comes in, how much attention they pay. If they oversell on him, Mullins will get the open looks, once Mullins hits shots they’ll adjust to him and now Ross/Solo get freed up.

Just need to hit the dang shots… please let us find that hoop on Friday night! Please!!!

He showed a couple things the other night for the first time, fun to see. Finally a pull up jumper, needed that and the baseline drive, bounce pass to Reed great play on his part. The defense is there, he’s solid. I honestly have to see more consistency on O to think he’s penciled in as a starter next year but he’s making me begin to believe he may be able to get there. Let’s see Friday, need another impactful game from him. Rooting for him to keep getting closer!

He and Allie Ziebell won the First night 3pt shooting contest two years ago. He had a sweet very repeatable stroke even back then.

Just needed to get game-comfortable with it.

So happy for him. He’s become a real menace on D. Limits his fouls the last half of the season. He got 2-3 sus calls against UCLA.

Although he still bites for a shot fake here or there, he’s also gotten much better at limiting those.

I’ll take 1-2 of those a game as a trade off for his overall shot disruption. He also has been recovering well from biting on shot fakes.

His play will be a crucial part of how far we go.
