Roscoe does everything this team lacks. Rebounds, plays hard defense, and hustle. He took a charge that I haven't seen anyone else take all year. So glad that he is coming along because we need him.

Roscoe is my favorite player on the team. I always thought it was a mistake benching him earlier in the year, people like to focus on the things he doesn't do so well like putting it on the deck and taking his man off the dribble. People need to focus on what he does well like tougheness, nose for the ball, timely hustle plays and lockdown defense, The kid is a warrior and jack of all trades type player. Glad that Daniels didn't play today, he just isn't ready to play in big games like this yet. Olander and Giffey should only get spot minutes, Roscoe needs to play around 35 minutes per game.

Roscoe was fantastic. I agree with all your points--he needs to be on the court as much as possible.
Giffey did what he always does.
Play hard.
Pass up a wide-open 3 despite shooting 40%.
Make a poor defensive decision that hurts (that foul on Gibbs--either foul him hard so he can't so easily make the basket, or let him shoot the layup).

He was great and deserves a lot of credit for contributing at a critical time of the season. The things he did have been missing this year. We have had noone willing to clean up the garbage whether it is rebounds, put backs or defense. Too often when the going gets tough this team has resorted to one on one play. It was nice to see Roscoe pick up his team. Calhoun must be loving him today.

I agree on the minutes but with RB starting Scoe is the perfect pick me up off the bench. AO averages at least a foul in the first 5 minutes so Roscoe won't be sitting long. The thing is that Roscoe is playing very confidently, and you don't want to douse that with reduced playing time. He is becoming just as important as Alex at this point.

Roscoe was great today, rebounding on the offensive end off some real key misses. Very active and pretty solid D, loved the fade away in the first half. Need him like that to make a run......he certainly is playing better and the Huskies need him like this, confident, the rest of the way!!

Of course Roscoe should be starting I have said that since day 1. Comparing Olander to Roscoe is nuts. I propose we nominate me huskymagic as the undisputed guru of the boneyard

Not playing Roscoe was a mistake all season. You don't win a National Title with an amazing defense and then the next year bench your best defensive player. Way too many people get caught up in statistics when Roscoe does all the little things and dirty work that just wins games.

Hey you earn minutes from October 15th in practice to the many games we saw all season. Anyone who believes he should have gotten more minutes early in the year and early BE season wasn't watching................he wasn't Roscoe from last year, his confidence was crushed and he did nothing to stay on the court at all from what I saw.......The Huskies are a better team with him playing like he did today that's for damn sure and he's earned the right to stay on the court....hope he earns the right to play 30-35 we need that.......

Never really got his reduced minutes early in the year either - wasn't sure if it was an injury or whether Calhoun just wanting to see what some of the other pieces had to offer during trial period.
It's more than clear that he's the best option in that 3/4 spot - he's versatile, plays good defense and has a leadership presence on the floor. Olander and Giffey might add a bit here and there, but they play with so little swagger/presence that they feel too robotic for a team like this that has struggled with leadership.

Agreed, Roscoe was not playing well and not earning the minutes that he's getting now. The Roscoe in the beginning of the year wasn't even close to the freshmen version, now he's playing like everyone expected him to in year 2.

The whole teams seems to want Roscoe to do well, like he's a little brother or something. There were really excited about the jumper he made, and they all ran to him in excitement after the charge (although that was a bet of sorts, it turns out--a sad one since this was really the first charge they could remember).

Agreed even though it wasn't a charge the fact he tried to make a play off his man was exciting for us who think they should be taking more charges!!

To put it simply, if Roscoe was playing most of the season like he has the past 4 games, both JC and Blaney would have given him more minutes. It's not like either of them didn't give him a lot of chances to contribute and stay on the floor. There was a horrible stretch where Scoe would almost immediately travel and turn the ball over. His head and game were a complete mess.
As for the past 4 games he's scored 7, 11, 11, 14 points and has played very well. I've noticed that our best line-up has included him. He's been the teams energy guy. Starting the season off, I thought our best frontcourt was Alex and AD. I've been convinced for weeks it should be Roscoe w/ either Alex OR AD. As long as Scoe works hard on the defensive glass, either of those line-ups seem to work well. He got only 27 minutes today and I thought he should have received more. I'd even prefer him to get more PT at the 3 and a little less of the 3-G set of Bazz, Boat & Lamb.

Right now our best lineup is AD,RS,JL,SN,RB this lineup is good against the zone and rebounds well. i think if AO wasnt such a sulker coming off the bench he`d be excellent teamed up with TO of the bench. i think these two combos complement each player the best. RS playstyle works well with AD and AO skillset works well alongside TO.
I was wondering the other day, how many charges this team has drawn. That was a critical play by RS.
