I am not of that era but watched it for the first time during COVID. It still absolutely holds up.

We used to have dinner every night as a family and then we would kind of do our own thing, I would watch the Knicks with my dad and my brothers and I would play ping pong with my dad but Thursday night after dinner we all got around the TV for Cheers and The Cosby Show every single Thursday night. Family Ties too but we never missed a single episode of Cheers and The Cosby show. I was really young for a lot of it but it's some of my favorite memories growing up.

When Covid shut down everything in 2020 I bingef watched Cheers to see it as an adult. I was a teen throughout its run on NBC.

It felt like it took forever to get through the series even after watching it for 3-4 hours a day. But it was great, especially cameos from actors who hadn't yet hit big time. Final scene of series finale is still top 5 all-time.

Every year I go with a group of guys on a weeklong golf trip.
I decided starting next year I'm making up a different story every day when we check in at the golf course as to how we met.
One of my suggestions is we all were bit actors and met on the set of Cheers as background actors whose only line was "Norm!".
