Harlem Globetrotters icon Fred 'Curly' Neal dies at 77 years old
Harlem Globetrotters legend Fred “Curly” Neal died early Thursday.
Same here. Thought he was a lot older than that.I'm shocked that he's only a few years older than me. He was playing for the trotters my senior year in HS.
Pretty sure his name was Valentine. Theo, or maybe Ted. Can't remember for sure.I loved watching the Globetrotters on wide world of sports. I took my family to see them live about fifteen years ago. I didn't know what to expect having only seen their short segments on TV. They play an entire game when you see them live. They do all their stunts and theatrics throughout the first three quarters and the fourth quarter is a real basketball game. I realized that if paid good money for the ticket they were going to give you two hours of entertainment. Does anyone remember the ref for most of their ABC games against the Generals?
