Not sure its a good thing, limiting potential buyers. Its not like UConn is a big State, hopefully our alumni is looking for a house this size. Perhaps its priced accordingly.

Different strokes for different folks. But there is a reason Rip was living in a community of multi-million dollar homes. There are plenty enough people with means who like them. And most of those people aren't living in them full time. It's just a nice crash pad when you want to settle down for a bit.
The $10-$20 million gets you a few acres, 10sq ft of home, an outdoor basketball court and direct access to the Atlantic ocean. Beats a 2500 sq ft apartment in a NYC high rise.

His Florida house probably comes with working electric power and his total property and income taxes are far less in Florida than yours in Ct.
