And Kelly falls on her sword....

"Here is Kelly Faris’ take on UConn’s final possession Monday night that ended in a game-altering turnover …

“It was run the way it was set up, but I missed the right person,’’ Faris said. “I threw it to somebody who was guarded, or I missed Kaleena at the top of the key. So then it kind of got us out of sorts and then I took the ball and drove it to the baseline, which was not smart. There’s a million things that have run through my head already that I could’ve done with the ball, anything than what I already did. And it probably would’ve been a better option."

thanks.....I am happy for Breanna, and my heart just breaks for Kelly. Call me a softie and I will agree.

Breanna would have been the tournament MOP if we'd won. During the unofficial timeout after the shot clock confusion, I thought: "We're not the best team in this tourney. But what a huge confidence boost for this team if they can pull it off." Tough luck.

Kelly's too tough on herself sometimes. Instead of essentially saying, "Everything I did was wrong," I'd like to hear her say, "I hope I get that chance again, because next time, things will be different."

the team left it all on the court. a great come back and a great effort. i'm sure the fans on tv saw what the 9000+ saw too. there was a reason geno let Bree play so many minutes. She played really well. Bodes well for next season.

There are still possibly 6 games left this year. I will be hoping, but it looks like a really tough road and a longshot. Still, will be rooting for them every step of the way!

Deserved spots one and all. Sadly who would have thought coming into this tournament that kml would not make or deserved a spot on the team. It seems like our girls take turns getting hot. If only they could do it at the same time

Breanna has had an up and down season. She started by outscoring all prior UConn players in her first 10 games, hit a stretch where teams got physical with her to slow her down, had some better games, did little against Baylor, and finished with 3 strong games in the tourney.

She came in with credentials second to no one in UConn or WCBB history, but was not the BE FOY. She needs more confidence, strength, experience, and consistency, but she can be a difference maker this year. We have up to 6 games left. She has a chance to finish an up and down season on top. Go Breanna!

There were stretches in the last 3 games where I felt Stweart was the only UConn player on hte court that wasn't in some kind of funk.

I also think that despite the hot start she just wasn't ready for prime time. I don't think it was the hype pressure or loss of confidence. Somewhere along the way the Auriemma learning curve smacked her in the forehead and it's taken a while for her to catch up to it.
