Can he defend at all?
Not really. Bad defensive advanced numbers and he would be the smallest and least athletic scholarship player on the roster.

Could still make sense though. Would be nice to have an experienced shooter for next year, considering we are losing our most dangerous shooter to graduation. Would be curious to see if we reach out.

I think a better option will present itself later on in the summer

I swear the Ollie years did such a number on us that half the fanbase has PTSD. We're in a great position nowadays, we aren't going for huge reach transfers from terrible programs anymore.
It's a good point but, to be fair, the only reason this thread was started is because Hurley's staff reached out to the kid last year.

Also, Kelly isn't exactly Antoine Anderson. He was All-Conference last year and averaged double figures efficiently in the ACC this year.

Forgive me for not understanding how Covid effected the NCAA transfer/eligibility rules, but he played 3 years at Quinnipiac and 1 year at BC. Is he granted a 5th year due to Covid? Thanks.

Saw him play last year before covid shut everything down. He lit it up at home (QU) vs Fairfield. While he was good there, and was actually starting a few games for BC, if RJ Cole is having trouble finding his footing in the BE, this kid would get toasted. Pass.

We don’t have enough guys who can create a shot at all or enough shooters next year.

we need a grad transfer filler, no idea who will be available But no question the aforementioned Are needs.

or just a regular transfer if they have a compelling enough story to get a waiver.

We need someone who can create their own shot. Star quality for the progress Hurley expected. Year 2 could be better year than year 3?

Bouk is gone. Jackson not doing what Bouk did freshman year. Covid/injury could have hampered progress. But doesn't seem to have Bouks jumper nor mindset. Bouk wants the ball.in his hands to attack. Be a threat. His game is 3 levels. Martin will be nice. But would be nicer as 2 or 3 threat. Sanago will be a beast down low at both ends. But there's nothing better than having a 2 or 3 that can create there own shot.

Bouk's going to the NBA will be awesome long term for continuing the UConn Brand. But will hurt next year.

I don’t mind us taking a chance on Xavier Johnson. He’s a proven commodity, a plug and play in our system. We need some experience on next years team.
