Most of that D-Line, specifically that monster Margus Hunt, are seniors and will be gone next year. I still don't think it's an easy win but the d-line won't be as scary.

I don't know why people think Maryland is a game we should win. We barely beat them with their third string QB last season. They'll get back a lot of injured players along with players likes Diggs and other frosh having a full season under their belt. I wouldn't be shocked if Maryland beat us by double digits.

Yes, Perry Hills was their first string QB, even though he was a freshman. He played against William&Mary and Temple before we played them. He will likely be their starting QB next year too.

Having said that, Maryland is by no means a free win....

I thought they had another QB slated to start before the season but he got injured....or am I not remembering correctly....

Oh Ye of little faith. Maryland might improve but so will UConn and I dare say by a lot more on offense. Besides Maryland has to come up here so I'm sure the team and the crowd will be pumped to stick it to Randy one more time. UConn needs to send a message to the B1G and a good way to send it is by beating their 2 newest members and one of their cornerstones.

We have a new O-Coordinator coming in, Hughes will most likely take over the D-Coordinator spot. I haven't heard a peep about anyone interviewing. Also, someone saw that the school had a job opening for OC and special teams coach, was there even one for DC? The recruiting is up and the returning crew is one year more into the system. I see 2 uphill battles, 3 or 4 we can win and the rest we should win.

As far as the future goes scheduling wise, the fact that we haven't seen UMass signed up yet makes me think that it's in the pipeline but the AD just needs word from the conference about how many dates they will take up a year and what days of the week we will be playing on. The conference obviously can't come up with that info until they have the new TV deal done. I'll bet that is what is holding up the whole works.
